Jeff Newman started his soccer journey curious as to how a ball could look so perfect in black and white. Every ball he had seen up to that point had been orange because he was a young basketball fan. However, at around the age of 8, he looked at the ball wondering how that was possible. He then realized oh right it’s just colors and that you can arrange them in any way you want. As soon as he saw this ball, though, he fell in love. He vowed to himself from a young age that he would master this craft and become the best he could be. But an important question to ask: what the heck to do in this sport? And what is this sport exactly? Luckily this character really loved to learn quickly and in no time, he was able to understand the fundamentals of the sport, with the help of his family who loved soccer and was eager to teach this guy what soccer was all about. When he became a teenager, he started to join one of the more prestigious club academies in the world, the Liverpool Academy. He was ecstatic as he has been a fan of Liverpool ever since he’s heard of Liverpool (which admittedly was only a couple of years ago but still counts) He met the leader of the academy who was very skilled in soccer himself: Mohamed Salah. He wonders how Salah was able to be so good as soccer and Salah taught the character everything he knew. He also made sure to teach Newman all the various positions and what they do as well as what’s necessary to prepare for each position. Newman has always been an aggressive person with regards to sports and so he saw the striker position as appealing so that he could score a lot of goals as well as in general establish the rhythm of the team. Salah got him started on his way there and now Newman is in college getting ready to be picked up by a club. Nicolás Inclán hails from high up in the mountains of Bolivia. He was born and raised in La Paz, and he would tell you he was practically born with a football attached to his feet. Before and after school, day and night, he just could not get enough of the beautiful game. When friends and family would tire of the constant pickup games, he would spend his time working on his technique, as he knew that one day it could be his ticket out of his hometown. This led him to improve the technical part of his game significantly, and he quickly was able to dribble circles around his friends and foes alike. And though others' version of glory revolved around scoring the game winning or cup winning goal, Nico was obsessed with becoming the best ball winning midfielder out there. He called La Paz home for his entire life up until the time he was found by an area scout and he has been off traveling the globe in search of football glory ever since. The scout found him while he was playing a pick up game with his buddies the the Zona Sur portion of La Paz. Nico's skills on the ball were again on full show, though he had no idea he was being evaluated by an area scout who just happened to be taking a break from his regular job duties for the club team The Strongest. Though his family had only ever supported Bolivar, and each member would tell you they bleed celeste blue, he accepted the offer for a trial at the rival club. He quickly worked his way up the ranks, earning consistent first team minutes in his first full season with the team, and even caught the eye of the Bolivian U-20 coaches, who brought him in for training camp in advance of U-20 World Cup Qualifying. Featuring for both The Strongest and Bolivian U-20 team got him noticed in the football world at large, as it gave him the opportunity to try out for Simulation Soccer League squads. He must have done something right to impress the SSL scouting directors, as he was drafted in the second round by newly minted SSL team the Montreal United. Seth Dolan was born in Massachusetts, not exactly a hotbed of soccer talent but he was different. Dolan has loved soccer from a young age. While others liked scoring sick goals or showing skill, he enjoyed two-footing opponents and leaving them wondering what planet they are on a talent he still uses to this day. Growing up in Massachusetts he gravitated towards the MLS and the New England Revolution. As a crayon flag supporter, he was disappointed to see that they recently changed logos. As a teenager, he would stay up all night watching games (especially ones played by the San Jose Earthquakes). He was an MLS fantasy champion for three straight years showing just how knowledgeable he was when it came to the beautiful game. Sadly, due to his dominance, the league was forced to shut down the gaming endeavor Dolan didn't go through a talented academy or get scouted from a young age. He kept grinding away through high school as he worked on his technique and became a better overall player. In his senior year, he scored 30 goals while also receiving 30 red cards. His number was retired but he was also hit with a bill for all the lockers he broke after a loss. Dolan would spend his summers at his parent's beach house on Cape Cod kicking a soccer ball around on the sand. He also enjoys watching Marvel movies and also tasting local craft beers. He is known to smash a few of them over his head after scoring a goal and yell Dolan smash even though his favorite superhero is Thor. Speaking of his parents, Dolan comes from a long line of clowns. His parents were kicked off the traveling circus for being rude to the elephants. Dolan vowed to become a soccer player to earn enough money so that they could own a circus of their own. Seth Dolan became a celebrity and hero to clowns all around the world. Now that he is a part of the Simulation Soccer League, all of Dolan's dreams have come true, including starting that traveling circus for his parents. APPROVED

Che Guevara is a well known Argentine Marxist who did incredible things in his life. Traveled South America, became a physician, helped lead the July 26th Movement and served in several positions in the Cuban government. He was murdered by US financed forces in Bolivia in 1967. Or so it was thought. His remains were said to have been hidden by those Bolivian forces. In reality he was taken as a prisoner to Guantanamo Bay and tortured for nearly 60 years. Now upon his release to Cuba he was offered transport to Argentina where he was drafted and signed by the Buenos Aires futbol club. Now an extremely old man with half of his life taken from him, Che has resigned himself to finish his days on this Earth as a futbol player, a sport which he always loved but took a back seat to his internal desire, nay, his need to liberate the people of the world. Growing up Che played a lot of futbol until going to school to become a doctor. After graduating he started traveling around to learn more about and to see the world. During that time he took a lot of odd jobs to scrape by and one of those was being a futbol coach. While he can't really cut it as a really great coach, those days always made him wonder what it would have been like had he not been shaped by the experiences he had seeing all of the political happenings unfold while traveling around South America with his friends and instead stayed home while either pursuing his physician studies more or really pursued a futbol career. Now he has the opportunity to do that. Che will never be fast or agile, his joints and bones can't take that anymore. But he's still tall and he can get absolutely shredded in the gym. So that's the plan. Get absolutely jacked and bully people in the middle of the backfield. Enable the midfielders and strikers to really do their stuff by clearing the ball up the field and catching the opposing team off guard with some really great defensive plays. The main goal is to beat the opposing strikes into submission by straight up over powering them. APPROVED

It is time for the introduction to VINS VINS, the wing back for the Catalunya football club. Now, this is an incredibly belated biography, as VINS VINS has played several seasons now for Catalunya and is certainly not much of a rookie anymore. Anyhow, without further ado, here is the biography of VINS VINS. VINS VINS was born in a village called VINS (apparently this is a real place in Vietnam? I didn't any actual background research when picking a hometown, I just said VINS for fun). When VINS was a young boy, his father did not take him out to the city to see a marching band. Instead, he grew up playing football with his friends, and it turned out that he was somewhat decent at it? He could kick the ball pretty far, and although he did play some forward, his youth coaches thought he had more potential in the back end, where he can boot the ball across the pitch quite easily. This decision worked out well for the young footballer, as he ended up becoming one of the most impressive young talents of Vietnamese football. This gave Vins the opportunity to join the elite Vietnamese youth football academy in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon). At the age of 13 Vins accepted the offer immediately and moved from Vins village to Ho Chi Minh City, where he essentially dedicated his life to football. After several years of grueling and extensive training, from strength and conditioning work to learning the tactical aspects of football, Vins was seen as an elite defender who had the potential to make the jump professionally. In an incredibly ambitious move, VINS VINS made the spectacular decision to declare himself as a prospect interested in joining the Simulation Soccer League. Although the league had just concluded its prospect draft prior to his declaration, Vins was still posted onto the waiver system, where the general manager of the Catalunya football club chose to take a chance on the young rising Vietnamese football star. Since his youth, everything in Shinji Kaido’s world has been around the game of football. Born in the city of Sendai in Japan, Shinji was said to have loved football ever since he has been able to walk. Coming in as the youngest of three children, Akio Kaido his brother that is 6 years older than him, and Yui Kaido his sister that is 2 years older than him. As a baby, he would go with his family to Akio’s area youth football games, and yet while still being less than one year old, Shinji seemed to have an odd fixation with wherever the ball was going, like a keen eye for tracking the ball’s location while in his mother’s arms. When Shinji finally reached the age of 4, he was able to join that same city league that Akio played in. Shinji was slightly ahead of the rest of his peers, it’s pretty tough when the ball is about half of your size. He noticed early that when a kid kicked the ball out of bounds, the assistants on the sideline would just toss another ball onto the pitch to keep the games going. Shinji would “accidentally” kick the ball out of bounds to get it out of the swarm of other four- and five-year-old peers, would then look right at the nearest assistant and see where they were about to throw the ball and run directly there. This would result in plenty of breakaway chances for the young Shinji. As Shinji grew older, the organization and skill of those around him pushed him to adapt his game to be more of a team-oriented style of play. Shinji started to see the positioning of his opponents and would make some ridiculous passes through very small lanes that would perfectly be right on his teammate’s foot in stride or for a perfect shot. These qualities got Shinji an invitation to a few practices with the local J League team, the Vegalta Sendai when he was a 2nd year in Senior High School. Shinji struggled initially to keep up with the speed at which the J League players were moving and processing all of the information about the field status on the first couple of practices, but eventually was not an absolute hinderance during the practice matches with the other substitute players. Fallon d'Floor (fælən də'flɔr) was born in Troyes, France, to mother Izzy d'Floor (née Danson) and French father, Yannick d'Floor. He moved to Germany at an early age, where he showed little natural talent on the football pitch. The one thing coaches would always pride him on is his work ethic, that he never stopped trying to create chances for his team. d'Floor would end up playing in youth leagues in Germany until he was 14, when his father re-united with his ex-wife, and step-brother Klein. Klein would end up helping Fallon with his decision making and passing ability, while also trying to get around what seemed to be a common issue of staying upright on runs, due to Fallon being pigeon-toed. Fallon has cited Klein as being "an inspiration. He's why I still play football" when discussing his importance upon his game. Eventually, Fallon got a tryout at a youth academy in Karlsruhe, where he was still seen as a development player, and would be rejected. This did nothing to impact his desire to play, however, as he continued to work on football, so much so that his grades began to slip and worry his teachers. However, as stated by his father, "once he wants something bad, he will not stop until he receives it". He would travel around Europe to England, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria and the Balkans in hopes of being scouted for a professional club, training for any outfield position but primarily as a right midfielder. In spite of this, Fallon is yet to receive a full contract with any football club, and would recently transfer to compete in the Simulation Soccer League. As of writing, he is yet to be claimed by any club. In his off time, Fallon spends his hours enjoying playing first person shooters and racing games, and studying languages. He has a firm understanding of Romance languages, Germanic languages and is currently studying the Balto-Slavic language groups, primarily Polish and Serbo-Croatian. He says that he is still looking to study Arabic and Asian languages, yet knows that they are far removed from the language tree, and that they may be difficult for him to wrap his head around the new grammatical structures. Adam Knight was born in rural Vermont and lived there for the first 14 years of his life. During that time, he became well known in the local area as a star athlete. On the pitch, he was a dominant winger, racking up goals and assists as the star of his middle school team. He was also a formidable runner, dominating a range of events from the 400m up to the 1600m. Life was good for the youngster, but a wrench was thrown in the plans when his family moved to Boston. Adjusting to high school is hard for anyone, but for Adam it was made even harder by the move. He had to leave all his old friends behind and adjusting to the city was no easy feat. In particular, Adam struggled with coming to terms with the fact he was no longer a big fish in a small pond. As a freshman, he went from being the star on his Vermont team to a 2nd string JV player in Boston. His times on the track were no longer conference record, but instead hovered right around the league average. This was obviously a huge transition, and one Adam struggled with. It wasn’t until his junior year of high school that he even saw the field for his varsity team, getting sparse minutes while struggling to make an impact as a left winger. His technique lacked and he couldn’t seem to find an answer for it. As it would turn out, that answer lay in a position change. His high school coach gave him an ultimatum: learn to play left back or don’t play. Faced with the prospect of not being able to play his favorite sport, Adam spent his time off for soccer working to learn a new position and hone his technique. When senior year rolled around, Adam was primed to make a mark on the team. While not the star he hoped to be, Adam was a consistently solid left back, using his solid positioning and athleticism to lock up left side. HE was voted 2nd team all-conference that year, but the journey was just beginning. The following year, Adam walked on to the Boston University soccer team. Once again, he found himself struggling to adjust to the jump in skill level and was red shirted as a freshman. Steady progress through his time at BU led to more and more minutes until he once again found himself a stalwart on the team as a senior. While the team as a whole was not the best, Knight’s contributions were a big part of their limited success. Years of collegiate strength training and a continued emphasis on his technical abilities, led to Knight becoming an all-around workhorse in back. While his left-wing days were far behind him, he still had the mentality to drive forward and whip in crosses. His journey complete, Adam prepared himself for the next jump from college to the SSL. Will he find success as a pro? It remains to be seen, but for now Knight’s crusade continues. APPROVED

Some may recognize the name Dexter Hall but not in the world of soccer. If we go to the other football, yes, american football, Dexter Hall is a household name among fans. A former first round pick for the Chicago Butchers (notably taken ahead of second round pick Tim Soulja), Dexter Hall had accomplished much in his career. One-time Ultimus champion with Chicago (first in franchise history!) with multiple award nominations for defensive player or linebacker of the year. Heading towards the last few seasons of his career, Dexter Hall knew everything he needed to about pass rushing techniques, each teams tendencies, playbooks etc. At a certain point, he got bored of doing this stuff during the long offseason. All he really needed was to stay in shape so he wouldn’t show up to training camp looking like Kelvin Benjamin. Then came the bright idea of enlisting himself in the SSL - Simulation Soccer League. What better way to stay in shape than running up and down the pitch? Now what position would Hall play? Goalie was crossed off the list immediately as he wouldn’t be running as much as other positions. Striker? Probably not as he hadn’t played any professional soccer before. That left it to be a midfielder or defender. Halls build was more suited for playing defense and the idea of tackling the opposition excited him. Defender it is! Hall logged into SSL.net and started his registration process. He needed to enter the usual demographic information and with a few clicks, he was registered for the SSL! Now starts the waiting game. Hall will be a part of the S6 draft class, set to take place about 2 weeks from now. Hall decided to do what was best for himself: Increase his draft stock. He went into the SSL headquarters and submitted his name. Seems like that counted as an “activity check”. Easy enough. A SSL representative came running over and handed him a pamphlet before quickly disappearing. “Rookie Tasks” it said. I guess this is my best bet to get my name out there and increase my draft stock. Seems odd that nothing relates to me actually showing off my physical or technical skills. But that probably works for me! Hall went off to complete his rookie tasks ready to start his career in the SSL. APPROVED

Kevin Zimmer, an attacking midfielder from Chicago, Illinois, has filed entry for the Season 6 Simulation Soccer League Draft. He will join the league for its next season, as it is in the process of concluding Season 5 and crowning a champion in the coming days. Zimmer first fell in love with soccer while watching with his dad, who noticed his son’s passion for the sport and quickly signed him up for area youth leagues. While Zimmer’s father passed away when he was 12, Zimmer’s love for the sport remained steadfast. He keeps the ticket stub from the first professional match he attended with his father in his wallet. Zimmer recently concluded his senior season of high school soccer, where he garnered a reputation as arguably the best playmaking midfielder in the Chicago area, if not the state of Illinois. During his senior season, Zimmer tallied seven goals and eight assists. He also gained recognition for his play on various semi-professional and amateur academy teams. While Zimmer has been courted by several NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer programs, he has elected to instead enter the Season 6 SSL Draft to join one of the 14 worldwide clubs that take part in the two-tier league. He looks forward to challenging himself against some of the best players in the world and seeing exactly where he stacks up. Zimmer’s greatest asset to a team is his playmaking ability. While he spent some time playing at striker and central midfield during his youth, he is particularly strong while acting as an attacking midfielder, distributing the ball to a team’s primary scoring threats. It is unclear at this early stage of the draft cycle where Zimmer will stack up in relation to his peers. Certainly, his playmaking ability will be a draw to teams, but professional clubs would like to see a little more killer instinct and finishing ability from a player who will presumably be so heavily involved in its offense. He’ll also likely be working on his pace and dribbling ability to add that element to his offensive abilities and become an even more dynamic threat. APPROVED
