Jannik Andersen was born in Aarhus, Denmark to parents Peter and Caroline about 22 years ago. He has long been a soccer player starting when he was very young at the ripe age of 5 and has progressed and kept with it every year and season since. It was not until about 14 when Jannik got his first big break and was starting to catch the eyes of the higher ups in the Denmark national football union.

At 14 he was scouted and attended a try out for the Danish national program and after seeing everything they needed to see, Jannik was invited to join the Danish National Men's Football team. He started play when he was 15 years old playing for the Under 17 squad for the Danish national team where he was a backup goalkeeper for a year before taking over as the starter as a 16 year old. While he was still 16, he was called up to the Danish under 18 squad. Then, right when he hit 18 years of age, Jannik Andersen became the starting goalkeeper for the Danish under 21 national team all while playing in the Danish Superliga for AaB or Aalborg BK who played in Aalborg, Danmark which is in the northern part of the country. Jannik primarily played sparingly during his time in Aalborg as a 17 through 19 year old and did not get the starting job until he was 20 years of age. He helped lead Aalborg to a 4th place finish in the table both seasons he spent as a starter.

He then got a transfer offer from Athenai in the new SSL and will be the starting keeper for a team in Greece. It will be the first time away from Denmark for Andersen now 22 years old and in this super league that all the world is watching, he has a chance to early on be one of the greats.

Some would describe his play style as eccentric as he is not your run of the mill goalkeeper type and has been defined as a Sweeper Keeper by many though that probably does not even begin to fully describe his play style. His leadership and communication along with his athletic ability help him take command of the field and there are many times where he can be considered an extra defender out there on the pitch. He does take big risks which you would hope that as he grows in age that he can take care of and play smarter but he does his job as well as any other keeper in the world.

APPROVED

Jakup Larsen is widely seen as the best player the Faroe Islands have ever produced, if not their highest potential talent. Born in Torshavn, Larsen began his career as a center back for local side B36, but following a dispute over his position, as the young defender wanted to move to attacking midfield (he scored 5 free kick goals and a direct corner goal in his one season playing youth football for B36), he left for bitter rivals HB, who he'd actually been a lifelong supporter of. Larsen continued to be a well-regarded talent, drawing comparisons to former Real Madrid star Guti, who he proudly claims to be his idol, as his innate eye for a pass and flair on the dribble wowed continental scouts, who aimed to pluck this possible hidden gem out of the Faroes and onto the mainland. Hell, he even became a Championship Manager wonderkid, called "the best hidden gem since Kennedy Bakircioglu". Yet, for some reason, he stagnated. His first season in the first team was considered underwhelming, and even he would agree. Three goals and 5 assists from an attacking midfielder is a disappointing return from a player as hyped up as Larsen was, and while the Faroese press were surprisingly kind on the young midfielder, his poor season took a toll. He asked HB if he could be loaned out to a foreign league so he could test his mettle, and he ended up with Danish third division side Middelfart BK, where he was also heralded as a hyped arrival. And while he did supply his teammates with ten assists as Middelfart were promoted to the Danish second division, he was disappointed with his goal tally (3 again, all of which came from free kicks). This led Larsen to find a different league to ply his trade in, and after finding the GRSL, he found it to be a good fit and declared for the draft. Believe it or not, Larsen is only 17, and his numbers weren't bad for a player of his age getting consistent first team football; however, his high expectations may weigh him down in his career, although he has the technical skills to become arguably the best attacking midfielder in the world today.

APPROVED

Helena Söderberg was born in Luleå, Sweden, just a few moments after her twin sister Cecilia. The two of them have three older sisters, one younger sister, and one younger brother, so the Söderberg house was always a pretty lively place growing up. A lot of the siblings are athletic, too, which a lot of people expected since their mother, Hanna, is a bit of a legend in her own right, and has made appearances on the Swedish national team for both archery and soccer. Helena follows in her mother's footsteps as she heads into a life of professional soccer, but she is surprisingly the only one of the Söderberg siblings to follow that path - her sister Cecilia plays basketball, and their older sister Erika and younger brother Gunnar both play hockey.

Helena herself struggled early in her life to set herself apart from her siblings. There's a lot of love in a family that big, but there's also a lot of room to get lost, and Helena was never the more outspoken of the twins, either, so Cecilia took center stage more often than not. Helena never resented her sister for that; the two of them were virtually inseparable up until they both left to pursue athletics and education in the United States. Cecilia ended up in New York, and Helena headed south to North Carolina, both of them on full scholarships in their respective sports.

UNC was where Helena really came into her own. Without her siblings around to rely on for company, she found her own way, making friends on her team and off it, learning important social skills along the way as well as improving her game. Helena, who was never the brainy one of the family (two of her sisters are doctors, and she was never going to end up on that road), buckled down and committed herself to academics as well as athletics, getting her degree in sports management (with plans to go into law and become an agent if the professional sports thing didn't work out for her personally). By the time the draft came along, Helena had no idea what to expect, but was optimistic that whatever happened, she would hae options. As it turned out, she didn't need to worry - she was drafted seventh overall by Tokyo, and as she prepares to move off to a country she has never even visited, she is very excited for the future and this new adventure.

CODE

414 words

APPROVED

Born and raised in Gibraltar, Connor Azpilicueta has soccer in his blood. He was named after his cousins, both professional players as well (Connor Tobin, center back for Forward Madison FC in USL League One in the United States and Cesar Azpilicueta, do-it-all defender and club legend for Chelsea FC in the English Premier League). Growing up, his cousins were tearing up the youth ranks, and Connor decided to follow in their footsteps as a defender. While many players were dreaming of goal-scoring and glamour, Connor Azpilicueta always knew he wanted to be a defensive juggernaut, whose leadership abilities, decision-making, and tenacity made him a nightmare for opposing forwards.

The most historic team in Gibraltar, the Lincoln Red Imps, saw Azpilicueta's potential early on, bringing him in to their youth team at age 8. The young center back was a point of emphasis in game planning for opposing managers, who typically had their teams refrain from attacking Azpilicueta directly and limited their crosses due to his prowess in the air. The hype surrounding this young kid was astounding, with soccer publications and media around the world waxing poetic about the young player.

Connor made his senior debut at the age of 14 in an opening day shutout of the visiting Glacis United. Of his debut, his fellow center back partner remarked, "the kid looks like an old pro...he looks like he's been here forever. He knew how the rest of our defense would move and react ,and moved cohesively right along with us." Azpilicueta still comments that a headed goal-line clearance he made in that game is still one of the defining moments of his career. He was named to the Gibraltar national team at 16, and helped them to huge upset wins against Maldova, Latvia, and Kosovo during his already stellar international career.

After tearing up the Gilbraltar Premier League and winning four league championships with the Red Imps, Azpilicueta heads for a new challenge: playing with the grown folks in the newly created SSL. With tougher competition and players from around the world trying to make a name for themselves and become draped in fame and glory, will Connor be able to pull it off? With his skill, leadership ability, and winning mentality, I certainly wouldn't bet against him.

CODE

378 words

APPROVED

Pingu Nootazuki was a phenomenally terrible basketball player during his high school days. Coming from the cold lands of Canada, majority of his time was with his hands inside his pockets. His extreme height and natural athleticism made him perfect for basketball but man oh man his handles were god awful.

The coach tried to get him to pass. Pingu just couldn't do it. He needed a running start an to throw it overhand, but that's what we call traveling.

Every time he tried to shoot or dribble he was too lazy to aim properly and just tried to kick the basketball. It got so bad that the coach said just stand underneath the net and put the ball in.

Obviously this frustrated Pingu Nootazuki. He got angry at himself for being incompetent. He got angry at his coach for making him baby sit the ball near the rim. He wanted to schmove. He got so angry one game that he punched the ball so hard it hit the coach in the face. We call that sitting on the bench from now on.

Luckily, during a the next practice the coach's brother came to watch. He also was a coach but for soccer. After this practice, nothing would ever be the same.

"Bro, what's up with that guy?" his brother said.

"He's just tall. Don't waste your attention on him. The guy can't pass, dribble or shoot," said the coach.

"But I just watched him kick the basketball into the net again and again..." said the brother, "Bro, give me this player."

Pingu now on the soccer team wondered what he was doing. Obviously, it didn't go so well. He never ran on the basketball team as he stayed underneath the opponents net. So cardio was out. But that left the goal keeper position.

"Don't let any of the balls pass the line into the net Pingu," said the brother.

And boy did he perform. His terrible throwing form became great for long distance hand passes. His punching skills turned out to be great for saving balls. His natural athleticism but lack of cardio made him an absolute show stopper... As long as he stayed confined in the small keeper area.

And the rest was history. Now his debut on Tokyo SC in the SSL will see if he's really all that.

CODE

words 392

APPROVED

Good Day all!
Time to introduce you to the one and only Mikko Rashford.

Mikko is a dual citizen. With his father born in Zambia, and mother in Finland, Rashford has seen himself represent both Finland and Zambia during his time in both Hockey and Soccer (Football). A rare two sport player, Rashford is excited to sign his first profession contract in the SSL to become the only player to ever play in both a major hockey, and major soccer league simultaneously.

Born in Macha, Zambia, a small town a few hours from a major city. Mikko spent his free time playing disc golf near the local mosquito research centre, playing soccer for his town, and helping the family around the house. It wasn't long until Mikko's athletic abilities began to shine and his parents began to ponder a move for the family.

His Mother, knowing they had family in Finland, thought it was time for Mikko to get to know his other side of the family better and thus they moved to Lapland Finland, his mother's hometown. Now you are probably thinking, how does a Zambian born child adapt to Lapland, apparently very well. Trading the warm climate of Macha for a rather cold winter in Lapland, Mikko took to hockey like no other. Climbing through the ranks and never seeming to leave the ice in the winter, it was clear Mikko was destined to shine on the ice. But Mikko never forgot his love of soccer, and in the summer kept training with the National Junior team from the ages of 13-16.

His time with the Finnish Junior Soccer Teams put him in the eyes of Tokyo Sports Club, an inaugural franchise in the new Soccer Super League.

Mikko would go undrafted due to a timing issue with his eligibility visa, but found himself immediately snapped up by Tokyo as the first ever Waiver Player to be signed to a professional contract. It is still to be seen how his dual sports will affect the longevity of his career, but if you ask him, he's not worried one bit.

As the preseason begins, Mikko is finishing up his Junior Season in the SMJHL, as he helps Captain the Newfoundland Berserkers on their quest to another Four Star Cup Run.

APPROVED

Born in Madrid, Spain, Franco Torres has been surrounded by soccer his entire life. As a child, he grew up hoping to play for Athletico Madrid his hometown club. Torres' parents registered him to play for their youth club as soon as he hit eligibility. It didn't take long for him to make a name for himself. Torres was quick to find the net and as soon as he picked up a sense for the goal, his thirst for more seemed like it would never be quenched. Torres started playing against older and tougher opponents, attracting many scouts to his local games.

With the establishment of the Simulation Soccer League, Torres decided it would be a good idea to shift his target. Intending to play for the new league and establish himself as a top goal scorer from its first day in operation, Torres has been training hard. He has improved in many areas where scouts have noted his skills generally lack. Previously, he was known as a smart striker with pace who had to trick goaltenders into making the wrong move and creating openings in goal. However, Torres aims to be a striking specialist who can score goals from far out. He hopes that this combination of speed and long distance shooting will make it very difficult for defenders to handle him.

Eager for the inaugural draft, Torres was hoping his name and attitude would allow him to be drafted in the early to middle rounds. Unfortunately, he ended up waiting a lot longer than he hoped. He wasn't picked until the very last round at the 49th pick. To make it worse, he was his team's last pick of the evening. Torres knows he's one of the best strikers in the SSL. This is going to make for a funny story once it's all said and done.

Watch for Torres to continue training hard until his very last game on the pitch. He aspires to be the greatest striker in the history of the SSL and doesn't want to wait long before making a name for himself. Look for him to score the opening goal in Cairo City FC's first game.

363 words.

APPROVED

The young full back Timo Reinmann has been an interesting case for European clubs since his breakout into the public eyes when he was 14, displaying an impressive amount of skill on the ball. Combined with the young mans speed, he was very quickly outpacing his peers in skill level, capping multiple times for both the Swiss U15, and U16 teams. Capitalizing on the great young prospect's current skill level, his club BSC Young Boys sold him out of their youth academy, days after making his Swiss Super League debut.

The now 16 year old Reinmann's career would take a dramatic turn afterwards. Leaving his family in Bern, the flame that had provided a spark in the players youth seemingly disappeared overnight, never making a senior appearance for Red Bull Leipzig. He bounced around Europe for many years, playing for many teams, but his most appearances came for Bradford City, in the third tier of English football.

It wasn't until accepted a trial to return to his homeland when Timo Reinmann would be placed back on the radars of European football fans. The now 28 year old quickly returned to the form that earned him the title of hot prospect over ten years ago. Playing for the second tier FC Schaffhausen, Reinmann would earn himself a spot on the 60-man roster for the Swiss national team, battling into the lineup to earn his first senior cap. Following the conclusion of his season in Switzerland, Timo left Europe all together, signing with the newly founded Cairo City in the SSL. The now grizzled veteran of lower league European competitions was finally ready to compete against top competitors. Affectionally nicknamed "Opa" by members of the Swiss national team, Timo Reinmann is gearing up to be a top fullback in one of the most game changing football league.

APPROVED

Røros is not a town that one would think would produce a top tier footballer, but that is only if one does not know Linnea Nesse's mothers. The two women share three loves: each other, old wooden buildings, and football. Which is just fine for Linnea; she loves all of those things as well.

Linnea cycled between school, the fields for the kids' football league, and the local museums where her mothers spent all their time. As she grew up, to her mothers' dismay, she was less enamored with the written history of their town and more with its general ambience. At 16, she went through 4 jobs in an equal amount of weeks when her bosses (all friends of her mothers') had caught her dribbling the football she'd snuck in with her. She maintained that it was entirely unfair, as she hadn't even damaged anything.

Her mothers had tried one last job - some skiing assistant gig, where she surely couldn't bring a ball with her. She'd shown up with one under her shirt and claimed immaculate conception, insisting it was not a ball. Amidst her protests, someone had stabbed it with their pole and put an end to that.

The same night as the ski ball mishap, there was a phone call from Oslo. Somehow, they'd caught wind of Linnea's skill via a video from her last match, and they wanted her to come and play on a specialized youth team for a year. Linnea hadn't even had to work to convince them, the three of them had packed her bags and made some calls for train tickets, her school records to transfer over, and a couple family friends in Oslo who could keep an eye on her. Despite their collective enthusiasm, it was a tearful goodbye the next day, and Linnea was made to promise calls each day and plenty of photos.

From there, Linnea's story is much more predictable. In the team, she'd excelled. She'd fed off her teammates' competitive spirit and done very well for herself. Scouts caught wind of her and send word to London, where she'd been signed. She hopes to always play to the best of her ability, and make her teammates and mothers proud.

CODE

372 words

APPROVED
