I guess for Slovenia Owen would be placed in the Baltic-Sea team internationally. Which I doubt has many players but least they have the best striker ever on the team in Owen? Every time I have seen international stuff here there is a lack of rest of the world to include the niche countrymen but its nice to see this system. Don't know if we have enough people for 16 teams though.
I personally think the international tournament should be 10 teams. Divide USA into 2 teams cause mostly yanks here. Canada probably have enough. Africa (and potentially Mediterranean? if they need the numbers but unsure.) Divide Europe into 2 teams, 2 Asian teams to cover them (Albeit might be better to do 3 NA/EU teams and 1 asian, again no clue the numbers), 1 south america team and then rest of the world for niche nationalities.
2 group stages with everyone playing 8 games (twice against everyone) and top 2 from each group qualify for semis.
Can expand from there.
Does it suck Zambia or England or a united USA doesn't exist? Sure but then future players can expand them and be a part of that team like how 95-99% of players are from countries weirdly involved within IIHF. You get the jist. Lay the groundwork and then expand into smaller countries.

Karl Schenkinger is the stereotypical german: He's hard-working, has a weird humor and a bad haircut. It's only natural that, after spending the first few seasons of his career in Africa, the defensive-minded midfielder now helped move his franchise to Germany and was a core part of creating the team idendity, and there cannot be a single shred of doubt that Schenkinger would be more than happy to play for the german NT.
The german public is obsessed with Fußball. No other sport even comes close to competing with the sheer presence it has, and major events dominate regional and national newspapers alike. Unpopular political decisions are made whenever there's a world cup, as the german public is too pre-occupied with the prestigious event to care about their collective pensions.
There isn't a single german kid who doesn't dream of wearing the Adler on their chest. Karl Schenkinger, of course, is no exception here. As the only german player on a german SSL team at the moment, he'd take a special pride in knowing that he's the nations main representant, and he'd play with extra effort and focus making sure not to let anyone down. After all, playing for Germany doesn't only mean prestige, it also comes with pressure to perform. Still, there's no greater thing in this football-crazy country than to wear the black-and-white jersey that has been worn by so many of this nation's idols.

My idea for a new International team for the Simulation Soccer League (SSL) is a team placed in India called "Mumbai Cobras FC". Mumbai has been a cultural area for India, and a team there instead of Delhi would allow the league to embrace a new local culture. One of the national animals of India is the Spectacled Cobra, more communally known as the Indian Cobra. Hindus consider the cobra to be the bearer of ancestors' souls. Folk tradition also holds that snakes protect the locality they are found in. Cobras also contain a potent venom enough to kill an elephant. The cobra embodies the value of multiple generations but is also meant to cause a potent bite on those in the SSL who try to trample on the snake. The city of Mumbai is the commercial and cultural capital of India, and the fans would be the most loyal and cultured among current teams in the SSL today. The logo would have a hooded cobra, surrounded by the famous "gateway of India", with the added flower to the middle of the cobra's belly and would have the team name of "Mumbai Cobras FC" in English and Hindi, two official languages of the country.

I think for an SSL international cup, we would probably need to dumb it down a bit and where you normally would have every nation represented, you instead would probably need to do regional or continental. There are players in the league that represent a ton of different diverse nations but in general, they are all spread about. For example, in Denmark, when I was writing my career PT for international play, I had noticed there have only been about 2 or 3 players from Denmark represented in the entire league's history which would definitely not allow a Danish team to exist minus filling it up with BOTs which, I guess you could do for each player's nation but that is not very fun.
Essentially, what you should probably do is have a 4-8 team tournament with some bigger locations and then some congregated locations. Maybe a team North America, or even split USA and Canada, team Europe, team Africa, team Asia, team...other? Or you could have a generic set of teams and allow players to commit to playing for a team even if their birthplace did not match. I think there are a lot of ways you can handle it but mostly you would have to dumb it down a bit compared to having teams based on birthplaces of all players and instead make general teams.

Since Edwin van der Sloth is Dutch I am going to focus on the Benelux "nation" for my theme week branding. Since this is made up of the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg I think it is only fair for me to focus on the Netherlands side of this and the other two nations can just tag along. I do this not only because van der Sloth is Dutch but I think they are more of the soccer powerhouse in real life so it makes sense to me.
I will stick with the Benelux name even if I'm focusing on the Dutch side. The main color of the jerseys will stay the Dutch version of orange as an homage to their past and regular in real life jerseys. But I will also introduce a band of three colors around the jersey collar: black, yellow and red as an homage to the Belgium flag for the players that make the team. The jersey around the bottom of it will have another tri-color ring around it, this time the red, white and blue of the Luxembourg flag so that they also can feel a part of the team.
I think it would be a ton of fun for Edwin van der Sloth to play in this sort of national team situation. He has only played for Buenos Aires in his career so this would give him a chance to play with people he wouldn't otherwise be able to team up with. I imagine it would be a fun tournament for everyone.

Designed some kits for Team Germany "Die Mannschaft".
I was always disappointed by the lack of the national colouring of black, red, gold in their kits. The hockey jerseys incorporate these together with the "Bundesadler" which I used for these kits as badge.
