RE: #2 Rookie Season - GHamss - 2025-06-25 CPT# 1 The rookie season for Snor Lax was a great one. It could not have gone better for the first year Keeper that was more focused on where to eat his next meal than the next ball to save. Regardless of his focus, Lax was able to help his team lift the Academy league cup after a nail biting finish to the season. With stiff competition in the Academy, Lax managed to have one of the better seasons. On the field, Lax appeared in all fifteen games, Lax put up respectable states. He had the highest average rating of any goalkeeper with a 7.48 rating, Lax was 0.5 above the next highest keeper. The high average rating was awarded with being one of two keepers to have a player of the match. Lax also had the highest winning percentage, tied for the most clean sheets, had the lowest goals conceded per match , second most saves parried, most saved held, saves tipped and highest save percentage. Not only that, but Snor Lax faced two penalty kicks and managed to save them both. However, being the keeper doesn’t make your team. Lax was pumped and appreciative of all his teammates who played outstanding throughout the season to help propel the Kangaroos to the championship. Off the field, Lax was popular amongst their teammates and grew close to quite a few of them. A single season together isn’t a long time but Sydney City grew to become a close knit team. The draft was both an exciting and disappointing time. Lax was pumped to see all his teammates get drafted to various teams but he was sad to see so many go to separate teams. Luckily for him, two of his newest friends ended up in Shanghai with him. Winning the championship was the highlight of Lax’s season. Having the pressure filled must win games at the end of the season was exhilarating. Watching his teammates excel and be awarded with the cup at the end of match 15 was reassuring and motivating. Snow Lax now knows what it feels like to be a winner on a winning team and looks to bring that experience to Shanghai. Approved - Look forward to seeing Lax across the pitch again soon. RE: #2 Rookie Season - gaucho12 - 2025-06-30 Matias Xavier had his ups and downs in his rookie season. Montreal did not win the league, Matias did not get a red card, and he did not kick any refs in the shins. He did record a record breaking number of penalties for SFV garnering the nickname Patias Pavier. He passed quite a lot in the minor leagues breaking into the top 10 passers in the league las season. Most who have been paying attention will remember his schizophrenic-esque post-match conference which he believed blew the top off of the SSL conspiracy. Yet for the time being Matias is pleased with how he has been growing, he fondly remembers some of the first tackles he made in the minor leagues and looks forward to what his second season can bring (which has already brought a red card however soft it may have been). He continues to progress as a player and is a semi-local name in the Canadian city, although if you ask certain people from Montreal they will tell you they aren't Canadian. Matias can't tell the USA from Nigeria though so it is all the same to him. He knows he is one of the dumber Argentinian center backs which is surprising since he joins the ranks of Marcos Rojo, Nicolas Figal, Nicolas Otamendi, and last but certainly not the least Ezequiel Garay. Another important fact about his rookie season is how he feels at home with Montreal and has decided for his second season to give another player the spotlight when it comes to penalties. He hopes to get a trophy before his third season of his career and can only imagine how far his career might take him. God forbid he does another post match conference after reading one too many SSL articles, but we can only hope! Approved RE: #2 Rookie Season - Nol15736 - 2025-07-10 CPT 1 After coming to Victoria Falls Chicken McTendie was excited to be a part of the SSL academy. As the season began he had high hopes of his chances to be the best keeper in the league. Those hopes turned out to be folly as Chicken struggled in his SSL academy season. He finished with a 2-6-7 record and gave up 60 goals in those 15 games while only saving 67 shots. Even though the numbers looked ugly he still finished tied for 3rd in the league with his average match rating being 6.73. Now as he has began his rookie season for Paris of the SSL after being drafted by USP/Paris he knows there is a lot of work to be done. We are currently 6 games into Chickens rookie campaign his save percentage sits at 59 % stopping 13 of 22 shots on target so far, which is in line with his academy save percentage, but he knows he can be better. The latest game was a rousing success getting his first clean sheet of his SSL career. He will be looking to build on that throughout the rest of his rookie campaign and has high hopes of leading Paris on a minor league championship run. Paris currently sits tied for second on the table. The next three games are going show a lot about where Paris season may lead as after a game against Cairo who currently is sitting at the bottom of the table, they play Seoul and Kaapstad who are one spot below, and tied for 2nd respectively. Chicken knows that a lot rests on his feathered shoulders and knows that he will need to be in top flight form in order to get Paris where they want to go in the league. With any luck the rest of Chickens rookie campaign will continue as the start has. 5-0-1 is a good start. with 12 games left I'm sure everyone in Paris would be ecstatic if they could finish with the same % the rest of the way and a 15 - 0 - 3 record Approved - Ah, the joys of being a young keeper. RE: #2 Rookie Season - Reno - 2025-07-13 CPT 1 353 words So far, Leah’s rookie season is not off to a great start to say the least. Through seven games on the season the team is currently sitting at one win and six losses, but also considering the turmoil and uncertainty the team faced coming into the season, that is partially to be expected. So far, Leahs season has been a mixed bag in terms of results. For the good, she is completing a lot of her passes thus far, currently sitting around an 85% success rate on her passes so far meaning that she is helping to start the attacks although there is no one on the team to help finish on the balls she is putting forward. Defensively she has been putting in a solid bit of work, specifically not allowing any major blunders that allowed for goals against the team. Also, on defense she has been doing decently well, having ten blocks on the season already and managing to block six shots that could have been going on goal for a chance against, all of this to go along with her 13 pass interceptions and 28 total clears she is contributing a lot in the backend. Leah has also been keeping it clean, only committing two fouls on the year and zero yellow or red cards to her name, keeping herself on the field to help out in every way possible. With an average match rating of 6.89 to start, she definitely has room to grow but is off to a good enough start. As for the bad things, despite being a playmaker Leah has a total of zero assists on the season so far, which is obviously not ideal to say the least. She also has zero goals to go with her one shot on goal for the entire season and while that is not a major part of her game, you think that you would want to see some extra shots here and there. All in all, Leah is off to a good start with her season, but there are a lot of areas where she can definitely improve. Approved - nice tempered expectations. RE: #2 Rookie Season - Beavie - 2025-07-14 NUMBA ONE LINK The second overall pick from the recent s21 draft, Allie Bunson has made it through her first ten matches for Rapid Magyar, with 7 league matches and 3 Cup matches. The fire type has also made the switch to right wing back, making the back line of Magyar that much cuter. This has been a period of growth and adjustment for the Scorbunny, with a new position in the back of the field, even if her style and position allows her to still pitch in offensively, means she is not as relied on for contributing to goals. Though she has shown herself as still a playmaking force, 3 assists in the season, and two in three matches for the cup, 16 key passes as well. She even netted her first professional goal in the cup. But what about defense? Allie made it known she wanted to improve that side of her game even as early as the Academy when Victoria Falls forgot what it meant to defend. Overall, there's some signs that she's been improving. 14 fouls, 4 yellow cards, so discipline is an area of improvement to be had. But in her defense, she can have a FIREy temper. ![]() But she's got a 100% tackling rate with 21 tackles, being effective when she does attempt a tackle, nine blocks as well. Which is quite impressive given the fact she is a rabbit. She's had 19 interceptions and 17 clearances. The portal also lists only one time a mistake of her's has lead directly to a goal. Her match rating so far this season has been 6.89. To put some context on that match rating, Rapid is an organization that has had some rough losses including 5-1 to Paris and 4-1 to North Shore. With only 2 wins in the league and an overall record of 4-6, three of their wins being against the same team, this is a rebuilding team. But in those wins, she has had each of her goals and points, winning Player (Bunny) of the match once, when Bunson steps up, Rapid does well. There is a bright future for this rabbit and the Rapid Magyar/Shanghai organization. It is just a process for the Scorbunny. Word Count: 370 + One silly gif. Approved - McTendie longed for defense in VF LOL RE: #2 Rookie Season - SG_Vesu - 2025-07-20 CPT #1 Samson enjoyed a rather nail biting end of the season in Sydney as they were crowned the champions of the Academy on the last official matchday. His career in Sydney wasn't all that great however only scoring 1 goal and having no assists as a wingback and playing in all 15 matches. He did have a very good tackle conversion rate of 90 percent though and he believes it helped his team win some silverware. Even with his average season he still came to gameday with a big smile on his face and cheered for his teammates that worked just as hard as he did so that they could continue to dominate throughout the season. At the beginning of the season Sydney were playing rather poorly, they found themselves bottom of the table after 5 or so matches and he believed that they may very well be bottom dwellers, but some key additions in the middle of the season helped give his team the push they needed to really start showing they were contenders. As the wins began to pile on Okoro tried to start being more of a leader off the pitch instead of just being another shirt number. He thinks this is what helped him stand out to Sao Paulo and why they eventually took him in the second round of the SSL Prospect Draft. Speaking of the draft he enjoyed rather long and enjoyable draft conversations with many of the OMs and AMs in the league. He would have been very happy with whatever team took him, but hes glad he was able to team up with Chicken McTendie in the Minors and playing for Paris this upcoming season. He was also able to fully convert to becoming a Central Defender and has every intention of becoming a world beater in his career. 307 words Approved - good drafting conversations are indeed a great part of this league's community. First Rookie Season Report - Afrhite - 2025-07-20 Breakthrought 15th picked overall in the draft, just short of the First Round Pick. Mazeed was drafted in the first club he talked to, Tenochtitlan Organization. Even if he is just a rookie, by his determination and will, he is the captain of Krung Thep. Taking Summerstood quote here "Mazeed al-Kazmi is a dynamo off and on the pitch". That is something I think I still want to bring to the team. Previously mentioned in Mazeed Biography, doing the dirty work so teammates can shine and team can win is something natural for him. Appearing in almost all games of the season so far, his presence on the pitch as been noticed by people around him. Averaging a humbling; 86.57% Pass Completion, 53.85% Successful Crosses, 72.41% Won Tackle, 2 assist and blocked 5 shot that were going straight into Carrigan cages. Safe to say that though the numbers aren't at the top of the leaderboards for the season, the results he bring to the team are welcomed. However, Mazeed himself want to contribute more in terms of goal and assist provided. His definitive role on the team isn't set in stone but the role of DM suits him well for now.. HOWEVER.. 17 fouls and 3 yellow card.. this is something to correct for the future. We can't let our emotions get loose and make silly mistakes that can cost us the match. For the following training, match and season, he will focus on building his core and leadership. Thinking it is a better idea to have less attacking oriented training and focus on defense which can guarantee Krung Thep wins when Roger Roger and Dom Patterson. Krung Thep two main canons, are scoring. In the past 5 matches, Krung Thep have won 4 of those matches while conceded a total of 5 goals for a whopping 11 goal scored in return. Last two matches won with the score of 1-0 and the previous two matches won with a score of 5-1 against Cairo City and 4-1 against Athenai FC. In those matches, Mazeed provided safety in the backline and participated in a beautiful sequence of event that lead to them winning against Seoul FC (Ft. Billy Eliott and Dom Patterson) Overall, it's none the less a promising start for him, they are sitting in the middle of the board right now but as we know in the SSL, anything can happen. Word Count: 415 Approved RE: #2 Rookie Season - By-Tor - 2025-07-29 CT #1 Roger Roger had an excellent breakout rookie year, playing a part in a huge draft class to propel Krung Thep to a terrific first season. The franchise had its first season alongside Roger Roger, so everything Roger Roger experienced in his rookie year was also a first for the club. In this inaugural year for both club and striker, Roger Roger led the group with 18 goals in 22 appearances. That total was good for 7th in the entire minor league, and offered just a glimpse of the success that the ready-for-battle battle droid could offer the club. His partner up front, fellow S20 draftee and striker Dom Patterson also contributed 15 goals, and the duo were an excellent 1-2 punch for the club. In fact, these two accounted for 50% of the club's goals in the first season. With a passing success rate of 85.14%, Roger Roger had one of the highest success rates outside the defender core, despite attempting the least amount of passes. As Roger Roger bills himself as an "attacker," he really did come through in that respect with a high number of goals and an excellent finishing ability. His contribution to the squad helped Krung Thep finish tied for 5th out of ten teams, an excellent showing for a first time club hitting the league. Krung Thep was 4th in goals scored (remember half of those by Patterson/Roger), a testament to the success of the striker set at the top of the grid. After this first season, the weaknesses in Roger Roger's game were evident, so he is making a point to not only shore up any glaring weaknesses and improve physically (or at least as much as he can for a metal made droid), but also improve and strengthen the points that he is so good at: attack, attack, attack! Approved RE: #2 Rookie Season - Jubka - 2025-07-29 Task 1 After a personally successful academy season (but a disappointing season for his team, the Victoria Falls Eagles) Juozas Kupinas got drafted in the second round by the Hollywood/Kaapstad organization. It was surprising to him that he already got picked in the second round, since there were still many players available who had built up a bigger reputation in their academy season than he did. The scouts of Hollywood must clearly see some (for now) hidden potential in the Lithuanian player. Juozas was delighted to have been picked up by the Hollywood organization. He had a great scouting conversation with them which made him already hope that he would be able to join their club. As good as this may all sound for him, it proved to be a challenging season for him personally. Since he's joining one of the strongest teams in the Minor League (FC Kaapstad), it means that there's quite some competition within the team for playing time, especially since the Hollywood organization had drafted some other strong prospects as well in Louis Ashworth and Marean Dohbra. The latter of those will be the one who Juozas Kupinas had to share the right wing with in his debut Minor League season. While this might be frustrating for some players, Juozas is grateful for every minute he gets to play on the pitch. He does feel like he can't show his full capability yet though with the limited playing time that he gets, but he understands that this is part of the process and part of the journey to becoming an established player in the SSL. He's learning how to deal with pressure much more now. While he was used to playing for the Victoria Falls Eagles without feeling much pressure because they were usually expected to lose, he was now playing for FC Kaapstad, who are expected to win almost every match. They had a decent season and ended in the top 3 of the league. The expectations for the next season are higher though and Juozas and his team hope to challenge for the title! Personally he had a pretty decent showing this season taking into account his limited playing time. With only playing a single half every game, he still managed to score 5 times. In the assist department there's still some work to be done with only registering a single assist in the entire season. Even though his playing time will most likely stay the same in season 21, he's optimistic about his improvement and the title chances for the team! Approved - Keep on pushing! You are in a great spot in Hollywood no question! RE: #2 Rookie Season - ulaire - 2025-07-30 CPT 1 Tre's agent Vincenzo, his so distant relative, that it was easier to call him cousin, called him very early morning. "Seoul. Last minute signing. Something called SSL Minor League". Tre shrugged and agreed - it's not like he had a wealth of choices. He arrived in South Korea wide-eyed and jetlagged, armed with a suitcase full of Gucci knockoffs and a translator app that refused to cooperate. He was marketed as some mysterious "European wunderkind", leaving the baggage of being Inter academy flame out back home. Tre even started to gather small social media following before stepping on the pitch. From his sprawling family winery and centuries-old stone villa, Tre moved to a cramped bachelor’s one-bedroom high-rise apartment overlooking the neon landscape. The rustic air thick with grapes and oak gave way to the spicy steam of street-food stalls and the heated asphalt scent. His first cultural shock came in form of culinary revelation: noodles were completely unlike pasta - too spicy, too chewy, and bewilderingly different. Not mentioning him trying to master chopsticks. On top of that, his English - once confidently practiced in front of the mirror - collapsed under real conversation pressure, turning even a simple taxi ride into a pantomime act of stereotypical Italian wild gesturing. That definitely didn't help mingling with completely new teammates from all over the world. Struggles in trainings and early season followed. His first viral fame arrived rather unexpected and for all the wrong reasons. His one of few vents here were youthful explorations of local nightlife. And Tre quickly found out that his Italian charm and appearance and somewhat mysterious aura accentuated by broken English actually made him quite attractive. So once when he was leaving one of premium nightclubs he had an Eastern European girl arm-in-arm, towering over him in stiletto heels. Unfortunately he was completely wasted and stumbling. Unfortunately everyone around had cameras. Unfortunately Tre tripped over her leg and faceplanted right there. Next day he was dying not only from hangover but also of shame, watching how he moved like drunken sailor near her runway polished grace. Comments that she probably has better footwork than him didn't help. Luckily social media fame is fast and in a week it as gone and forgotten. Especially when Tre finally found his stride on field. Solo runs. Breakaway finishes. One absurd volley that made Korean highlight reels for a week. His end season stats: 10 goals, 0 assists. A true striker’s striker. His viral fame changed - one goal celebration, where he mimed swirling wine in an invisible glass, became a meme. “Vino Boy,” they called him. The press ran with it. Fans chanted it. Strangers in clubs imitated this when they saw him. But it was time to move on. Approved |
