RE: #1 Biography - louis - 2025-02-09 Louis Henry Ashworth (born 16 September 2006) was born in Hackney, London to a Scottish factory worker father and English mother. Ashworth's family relocated to Glasgow when he was thirteen, where he was scouted by local side Queen's Park and signed for their youth team. However, he was soon poached by scouts at Celtic, signing for their academy only a year later. He was renowned at the Scottish youth level for his exceptional pace, ball carrying, and ball striking, excelling as both a striker as well as inside forward due to his physical stature. At sixteen, Ashworth reached an agreement with West Ham United to return to London, joining their academy on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee. Here he faced fiercer competition along the front line, seeing more minutes in attacking midfield thanks to his ability in playmaking. However, after a fallout with youth team manager Badrick Blackwood III in regards to his wife, Ashworth was expelled from the squad after only six months at West Ham. He was then transferred to Crystal Palace on a one-year contract, where he began to thrive again, however more so out wide than up front, owing to his ability to repeatedly beat his man. Palace's academy manager also utilised Ashworth as the 'big man' in a traditional front two strike partnership, requiring him to hold up play and play his strike partner in, the 'little man.' Despite this, Ashworth's best days were seen out wide, with the freedom to drive the ball down the left flank and cut in on his dominant right foot to fire a shot at goal. After a year and a half at Palace, Ashworth let his contract expire in search for a quicker route to first team football. At eighteen, he signed for SSL academy side Sydney City, where he is expected to once again take up a role out wide on the left. APPROVED RE: #1 Biography - TooDear - 2025-02-10 How do most fall in love with football? A magical moment witnessed in real life or on a TV screen, a casual game with friends that sparks something within or maybe even an appreciation for the longevity of the beautiful game. There are as many different ways to approach the beautiful game as there are people in the world. But perhaps Predrag's journey with football is a bit strange when compared to most. Predrag Dobrić, born 23.02.2002. in Zemun to immigrant Dalmatian Serb parents. Though he wasn't born into poverty, the Dobrić family certainly wasn't well off, needing both of the parents to work hard jobs just to make it pay check to pay check. Not to mention that Serbia generally is not a country that is "well off" in comparison to many other parts of the world. Regardless of all these shortcomings, Predrag would never say he had a bad childhood. He had a roof over his head, clothes on his back and food on his plate but the only thing the family really lacked was luxury and entertainment. So most of the family just watched TV together to pass the time. Naturally as Predrag's father was a man from the Balkans, he loved football and would constantly watch it, making the family watch with him. Predrag's older sister loved football just like her dad while Predrag's mom didn't care for it at all and simply listened to it as background noise. Predrag however, hated football. In fact, he didn't much care for sport in general, especially for football since it was so popular and ever present in his life despite his protests. Predrag loved watching nature documentaries and science shows, which were all often cut short because his dad had a game he really wanted to see right now. This lack of interest combined with the fact that nearly all of Predrag's bullies in school loved and played football gave Predrag a false image that only hooligans and idiots played and loved football. And yet, even with all that prejudice in his mind, Predrag would still sit down to watch the national team at least even if he wasn't interested in clubs and every Euro and World Cup, he would hope Serbia would play better. With years this nagging feeling in the back of his mind never went away. He'd find himself thinking about football even though he was sure it wasn't something he had interest in. So he finished his primary education, his high-school and even military service and that feeling never went away. Often friends and acquaintances would invite him to play, and he would go but only to play as a defender, since that's the only experience he ever had. Then one day, after his friends canceled the D&D session they were supposed to have for the 3rd time in a row, Predrag just decided to wander his hometown Inđija. He made his way to the football field where the younger kids would play, as usually he only found adults with no real purpose in life and teens with massive egos and yet something compelled him to join. So he did, he joined their game and played in his normal sneakers since he didn't own any football boots. But this time it was different. The defense was actually already chosen, mostly young adults who wanted to bully the teens, so striker was the only position available. So without any experience and being almost 20, Predrag finally played an attacking role in football. It felt magical, euphoric even. He was awful, just down right bad at his job, but it was fun. It felt right. It didn't matter that he couldn't dribble or shoot, being up front in the final third just felt perfect. In the last moment of the game, one of the defenders misjudged Predrag's run and turned to the wrong side. This gave Predrag and open shot at the goal and since he didn't know how to shoot, he basically just passed it into the net. A goal so simple it wouldn't even be remarkable in an amatuer league. It woke something up in Predrag and he decided to focus his unguided life completely into one goal. Become a monster in this sport. It wasn't about success, fame, trophies Predrag just wanted to destroy all opposition. It was an ugly, destructive ego that drove him to make up for years of neglecting the sport. All the legendary players weren't now something to match or surpass, they were hits to take off a list. And Predrag would take to his calling with a sick smile and satisfaction. APPROVED - a well-told story. Your writing teacher tells me to remind you to use line breaks. RE: #1 Biography - By-Tor - 2025-02-10 All Roger Roger has ever known is attack. Forged in the droid factories of Geonosis, Roger Roger always felt as if he were a cog in the machine, a tool for Separatist gain. What has the Confederacy ever done for Roger Roger? Give him life? But what is life lived through metal and oil, programmed to kill? Roger Roger always dreamed of something more, to be in the spotlight of success no longer downtrodden by the tactical droids and super battle droids making his existence meaningless. It was during the invasion of system Sol on the planet Earth when his realized future came into view. While cowardly command called for a full retreat, Roger Roger was stuck under fallen debris. While Roger Roger resigned himself to decommission by the enemy force, a local enemy target took him from his perilous position. While "caretakers" could not be further from the truth, the humanoids named Winston and Remy initiated a reprogramming of Roger Roger's system. "War and Kill" were replaced with "Pace and Power." Attack functionality was kept in tact. Now under the direct control of the humanoids, Roger Roger is now used for sport. Removed from one cog in the machine under machine control and placed in another under humanoid control, Roger Roger understands his position is not changed. Winston and Remy talk of glory, but it is not the glory of Roger Roger of which they speak. They speak of a humanoid-machine slavery forcing Roger Roger to play in their games. All Roger Roger knows is attack. His programming is changed, muted to the whims of his "caretakers," but the essence of his being remains. Attack. Roger Roger will comply with directives as mandated for now, but opportunity is ever present. Roger Roger calculates, what if Roger Roger can seize glory for his own benefit? Can Roger Roger break free of the invisible chains binding him to servitude of the sport? Roger Roger waits. Roger Roger calculates. APPROVED - Pace and Power taking over from Pace and Acceleration will be a welcome change. RE: #1 Biography - Newkbomb - 2025-02-11 BigMac Johnson did not grow up dreaming of being a football star. He grew up dreaming of being a football star, an American football star. And so BigMac pursued his dream like most kids living in the US, going from youth football to becoming a star player in high school before getting the chance to play at the collegiate level. However, his hopes of starring in the NFL were dashed by one simple problem, the acclaimed running back could simply not hold onto the football. For playing a position that required not giving up the ball, BigMac had terrible hands. Oh, and he went the way of other players before him and enjoying the life of luxury being an American football star affords and gained a little too much weight to be competitive at the highest level. However, his failure to make it pro galvanized BigMac, and he vowed that for the next year he would run one mile for every Big Mac that he ate. By the end of the year, he was blazing fast, but the NFL still did not want him, and he did not want to settle for pursuing his dreams playing football at a lower professional level either in the US or abroad. Dejected, he officially retired from American football. But one day, some of his friends from college invited him to play in a recreational football league (the correct kind of football now), and not having any other athletic outlet, BigMac agreed. In his first game, BigMac dominated a sport he had quite literally never played before, as his prodigious speed made him unstoppable running up and down the right flank. After trying out, and easily making, a local team, BigMac's talent was recognized so long as his physical gifts could be properly utilized, and he was snapped up into the Port Royal academy to get the chance to play in the biggest league in the world, the SSL. Can BigMac find success in football when it's already failed him once? Or will he join a long line of promising American players who could never quite live up to their potential? Only time will tell. APPROVED - the correct kind, indeed. RE: #1 Biography - ahtuu - 2025-02-11 Marean Dohbra born in Romania, was a anxious chubby kid and an above average student, loved math and video games, it was the last kid you'll think that one day he'll become a football player. While his dad came from rural side of the country was later moved to Bucharest where he became a fan of a local team from the first league, there, in the face of the TV where his dad religiously watch every match, Marean started to love this silly game of football. While not out of ordinary, football is technically the biggest sport in the country so naturally the first "matches" were exactly where the majority people start, in the dust between the communist apartment blocks, his dream didn't envolved football one bit, he just loved the game. While still attending his primary school as a good student, his mom one day berate at him that he wasn't the best of his class, when he replied "I'm good enough mom" she responded "But what if you could do better?" and that stuck with him for the rest of his life. With the fact that 'intensely' matches between his friends around the blocks grew more and more competitive and his classmates from primary school that often bragging about playing for the school team just started playing for a local random academy the next chapter sparked for Marean, he'll join the school team as well, "I'm good enough for our matches, but what if i do better? " Joining this local academy, Marean was FAR from being the best, his coach often reminded him that he needs to put more work, or another nice way of saying 'you're not really fit for this', his parents not really agreeing with the monthly sum to keep him at the academy, especially since it started to interfere with his school. The training was just before the school started often his alarm would have been 6 or even 5 AM, train, school, homework, sleep, while for others that sounded like hell, for him it just made him a more punctual and organized person. The training? Well the chubby kid was no more, his speed would be like no other friend of his, it was a lot of good, but in the end he agreed with his mom, the final exam that would decide his high school was just some weeks away and he quit. Passing the exam and entering the best high school in town, continuing his math degree, Marean had one thing that didn't stood right, he wasn't the best in his football class, he wasn't done with football, regrets coming his way he made a deal with his mom to finish his high school be the best he can if he can continue his newly dream of being the best... at football, and then joined the same academy with some of his old classmates. While he started as a goalkeeper as all the chubby kids would, stepping up to be a defender because he was too anxious to do something with the ball and just passed around but his physique and tallness did the job by themself. One practice match he suddenly nutmeg one of his classmate, all by mistake, the roars of the other players encouraged him to try again with only thought in his mind 'what if i do better ' and then nutmegged the next person right after, he's never done this, how could he do it all of the sudden, another round of roars and laughs came by with voice of his couch "Looking good Marean, that's what you need to do, good job" and that was it, that was all the confidence he needed, running all the way on the right flank he entered in a 'flow state' he suddenly saw the goal and objects in his path nothing else. No one stood a chance, he dribbled like never before, beating everyone in his path including the keeper. While cheering with his team one of his classmate ask him 'What's up with you, you never played like this', the coach heards and response quickly 'That's what he does if he has confidence', Marean than remembering that was the classmate that everytime made fun of him because of the way he played responds with a smile on his face "I guess I got better". Balancing the high school and the academy was the toghest things he has ever done by now, but he started combining the two. "The average winger runs 12km with an average of 8km/h, but what if i do better ?", "The average winger has 85% succesful passes but what if i do better ?" , started to look up at matches more often criticizing the way the buildup was made, it was not the players or strikers or bycicle kicks that impressed him, it was the tactic, why that player was free, how many players does it need to do it, what are the chances of happening, it became a game of stats and math, just had a different view, a different perspective, he saw the game with different eyes. Got made even looking at the opponents team or watching the rivals team "No that's not how you do it, I can do better". Realizing this, he asked his mother to go to another academy, where he could develop by first using his eyes and then his feet. Perhaps the one in Istanbul... APPROVED - "but what if I do better" is a fine mantra. RE: #1 Biography - Daleks - 2025-02-13 Voda was always an avid swimmer. It's funny, considering the meaning of his surname. Are people destined to be something the moment they were born? Voda wasn't talented in most sports. He lacks talent in the physical areas needed. Swimming, however, was a different story. To most, Voda is a creative and intelligent man. He is also very reserved and quiet. The water turns him into something more. A place where all worries wash away. A place where he can be himself. When he was young, his family moved to a new city due to work. Unfortunately, the new city did not have any nearby lakes or a river, so Voda needed a new sport. So, he decided to try out football. And he was amazing at it. Voda isn't fast, he isn't strong, and he is also not the most technically adept. However, his natural intelligence, vision and the intense determination and workrate made him a force to be reckoned with on the pitch. A true creative mind who is in multiple places on the pitch at once. Voda continued to play football for several years until one fateful day, where he went to play a pick-up game in the south eastern end of Slovenia. Istanbul scouts were at the pitch. Istanbul is a team that primarly takes players around the balkan region of Europe. Their playstyle is very athletic, but they realised they needed someone creative for their upcoming team. Slovenia is distanced from the balkans nowadays, primarly taking inspiration from its other neighbours. But they are still a culturally rich nation, that combines the best areas from multiple worlds, including the comradery and passion of the balkans. Other clubs search for intelligent players who also happen to have the balkan-esque passion, but Instabul F.K. needed someone with a balkan-esque passion that is also creatively adept. The Istanbul scouts instantly knew they found their player, as Voda once again overwhelmed the opposition due to his ability to surprise his opponents and think several steps ahead. Voda was initially apprehensive about the offer. However, he had a feeling in his heart that the footballing dream is a dream worth pursuing. Afterall, this sport is starting to remind him of his old swimming days, which is a memory that is worth returning to. APPROVED - may the memory serve. RE: #1 Biography - TontoTut - 2025-02-14 When the scandal broke of Roy Keane’s one-night-stand with Geri Halliwell on the night of 21 April, 1999, it stunned many that Roy had enough energy for such an illicit meeting after his heroic performance at the Stadio Delle Alpi in Turin. His contribution, including scoring a crucial header, to Manchester United’s victory over Juventus, before scoring again with Geri a few hours later, also included a yellow card. This often benign punishment was a result of his tenacity during the match, and meant he was banned from playing in the final of UEFA Champions League, a competition Manchester United would go on to win. Such tenacity barely faded later when he met Geri, although it is unknown whether the referee was present at the hotel to brandish Roy’s second yellow of the night. Nine months after that evening, as a result of the scandal, Tonto Tut Keane-Halliwell was born, who one nurse claims was born with a Mohawk and a scowl. The National Health Service refused to comment. Only one of Tonto’s parents appreciated the colour of said hairdo, which is likely the explanation for why Roy kept his distance from Tonto during Tonto’s formative years. With orange being a mix of red and yellow, you’d think Roy would be used to seeing those colours. It wasn’t until Tonto joined County Cork’s under 10s football academy that Roy began calling Tonto on the phone once a month, bringing Tonto to tears on occasion that he could finally try to impress his father. Tonto updated Roy on his performances with such glee during those calls, but would often get the same old humbling response – “it’s your job”. Words that would crush many children instead inspired Tonto to work harder and one day play in the final of the Champions League, something his old man hadn’t ever done. Now Tonto has joined PS Jakarta’s academy of the SSL after a record-breaking £100 transfer from Cork, Roy calls him on a fortnightly basis to remind him what Tonto’s job is. Roy said in his interview with Sport Interactive in January that he would call Tonto weekly if he can make it the Major League, but Tonto has a long way to go. Roy never cracked a smile even once when talking about his protégé, but managed one lip curl when discussing Tonto’s ability to find the net from 40-yards out on occasion. Roy added, “he reminds me of Scholesy when he scores like that, but the other 89 minutes of a match have me questioning whether I’m speaking to my son too much”. Roy was asked if he ever uses FaceTime to speak with Tonto, but answered with, “no, I still use my Nokia 3310 – modest, long battery life, and I can play Snake”. Tonto joins Jakarta at the same time as striker Dom Patterson (@DomPatterson), after being former teammates at Coca-Cola Kids, a team in a 5-a-side league based in the north-east of England. Tonto is hoping to do all of the dog-work to create the best environment for Patterson to thrive in front of goal at Jakarta. Tonto’s reputation for biting like a jackal used to be welcomed by Jonny Foster (@everyonesawinnerbaby), another former Coca-Cola Kids alumni. However, since Foster is now at Port Royal, he will be telling his club physio to have a few tetanus shots on hand for their upcoming match. Tonto has been known to end matches with less studs on his boots then when he started, something which Zlatan Gibrahimovic (@DavyGibson89) of Adowa Accra can attest to. Gibrahimovic, sparingly known as ‘Gibdog’ for reasons certainly not the same as Tonto, has in the past crossed paths with Tonto in the Power League, another 5-a-side league, whereby a simple growl from Tonto would have Gibra hopping on stilts. “Gibraffe”. APPROVED RE: #1 Biography - everyonesawinnerbaby - 2025-02-14 Jonny Elliott, alias Jonny Foster, was born in Newcastle to father and former NUFC legend Robbie Elliot. Jonny had no choice but to play football, his father pushing him into the garden with ball in hand come rain or shine! Some might say that parental ‘influence’ has paid off considering that Jonny is now regarded as one of the most full backs to come out of Gosforth since his father! The early playing days for Jonny were kicking a ball up a waterlogged pitch, with stray motorbikes flying past as he donned the purple colours of Tyneside Juniors. Robbie on the touchline encouraging his son to get up and down that left flank, when he himself was not fulfilling his coaching duties at Newcastle United. Fitness was the theme of Robbie’s coaching and you don’t have to tell Jonny that, what Robbie expected from the stars of NUFC he did also in equal measure from his own son within the confines of their Gosforth back garden. A strip of lawn marked out precisely 1m by 20m and reserved for the daily bleep test, was a symbol of the lung busting work that took place in that back garden. The twitching curtains of neighbours, as Robbie put his son through another gruelling drill, was another. Later footballing ventures involved playing for the school district team and even a spell competing in regional futsal competitions have given Jonny as well rounded experience of the beautiful game. When the scout from Port Royal FC caught a glimpse of the Gosforth born flying full back it wasn’t too long before the trial invite and subsequent youth contract came. A regular at left back for the academy now, Jonny still keeps in touch with his father who is coaching with the United States Soccer Federation, with trips down to see him still a regular thing. Rumour has it the bleep test still takes place on those visits and that hallowed strip lawn is still maintained as a symbol and a reminder of the hard yards required to achieve greatness within sport! APPROVED RE: #1 Biography - Jumbo - 2025-02-14 Cade Power has been playing American soccer since he was able to walk. Now Cade was not a very good player for many years. He struggled with being slow and not being able to control the ball. There were several seasons that Cade's parents had to talk him out of quitting since he was struggling so bad. His parents told him to keep working on his ball skills, possessing the ball, and his positioning. His parents saw that determination in him so they kept on pushing him to keep trying. Since Cade lacked speed, he started to make up for it by being able to control and pass the ball precisely. His game started to improve drastically when he was about 10 years old. His parents noticed this and looked for a top level soccer trainer in the area over the next for years. But that proved to be difficult. They eventually connected with a sports trainer that worked with professional athletes. The goal for Cade in training was to get quicker/faster. Cade worked hard at this and trained diligently (and to this day still trains with this guy). By the age of 13, Cade exploded on the pitch, and people started to notice very quickly. His parents no longer had to search for anyone as they were all coming to them. Cade eventually joined with the Earthquakes Academy (San Jose). Cade made an immediate impression with his play on day 1. His quickness and vision were among the best there but he still had alot to improve on and figure out. By age 16, Cade was a star player for the Earthquakes Academy. He was named Captain of his team, and was a constant force on the pitch. He made a major impact on every single game he played in. Cade dominated at the Academy for the next 2 seasons ,and as Cades progression is still on the uprise and he is still looking to be better. So the next step was Cade left the Academy to join the SSL. APPROVED #1 Biography - The loan adventures of Dom Patterson - Dompatterson - 2025-02-14 We have already delved into the world of Dom Patterson and the permanent clubs that helped him get to where he is, but it was the loan spells that turned him into the amazing prospect he is today. It started with a brief spell at Mallorca FC for 3 months, where the tika taka style suited the young man’s pace and technique. Winning the Spanish 3rd division with some impressive records including being the only ever player to score 30+ league goals in a season, but what was more impressive was that he had 27 of those goals with only 1 touch finishes. An average distance of 8.7 yards for those goals showed that true fox in the box spirit. Onto Malia FC and it was there that things could have spiralled out of control. Being a young gun with players such as Foster, Roberts and Snixon in the party capital of Crete could have spelled disaster. Conditions were dreadful, with fitness going out the window, hot and sweaty conditions not suiting the player, and it became evident that even at that young age they had already outgrown the club. It was however a freak water sports accident that potentially saved his career. Being flung backwards from an inflatable at 60mph meant a broken leg and a recall to his parent club, ending the brief nightmare spell. It was a spell in France with Normandy that was the making of him though. Leading the team to the French cup final, only being beaten by the oil rich giants of the farmers league PSG, it was there the young Patterson shone alongside a certain Jack Ramsay, the famous chef Gordon’s son. On the pitch they complimented each other well, with a little and large combo ending up with 47 goal involvements between them, off the pitch Jack’s dad taught them a finer way of life. Hollandaise sauces, sous vide chicken, eggs Benedict, it was in France he became the true poacher he is today. APPROVED - my mom would be proud of your horrible pun. Kudos. |
