RE: #1 Biography - Giacomino_raiola - 2025-04-03 Being born in a football crazy nation like Italy surely does help go get in love with the beautiful game that is football; that's how it happened for Giacomo Santori. From a young age he started playing football, starting just like every other child on the street after school and in the local teams; originally a defender he was moved in the midfield due to his short height. “When you are the defender your job is to not let your opponent take the shot” that was the young Santori thought when he was still playing in defense; but now in his new position Santori realised that football was a team sport and his mentality had to change, no longer he saw football as a solitary struggle, now Santori founded himself in a new struggle in which you help your teammates to score. The change of a position is always difficult especially if it’s a drastic one such as Santori had been forced on himself, but Santori continued with his training, his teammates depended on it. Continuing as a midfielder Santori made himself a name for his speed and his extreme altruism literally refusing to shoot when he could have easily scored, when asked why he always said:” I played most of the time as a defender with the only plan to not let the opponent shoot, it would be against my younger self to now try to score”. It was his speed that forced Santori to once again change his position, now more wide Santori was used as a winger in the last years of the pre-Academy, with mixed results but always giving his best. Then it happened, in the last days of his last pre-Academy season an offer from Victoria Falls arrived, Santori didn’t think twice before signing, he was ecstatic, he was given the possibility to show himself on the world stage. This isn’t the end of Giacomo Santori's footballing story, it's just the beginning, it might not be the best, but rest assured that he will always give his best for himself and for the team. APPROVED RE: #1 Biography - Jubka - 2025-04-06 Juozas Kupinas was born in Utena, Lithuania on February 24th 2008 as an only child. From a young age he was already interested in many sports, but that didn't include football. Living in a country where basketball is the 'national sport', football didn't even cross his mind. He was mostly found on the basketball courts in his town or swimming in one of the many lakes in his area. But that changed when the family moved to the Netherlands in 2016, when Juozas was 8 years old, because his father got a job there. They would live in the city called Venlo in the south east of the Netherlands. With the shocking lack of basketball courts there, he felt forced to look for a new sport and that quickly became football. He started playing at the local amateur club Venlosche Boys and it didn't take long for people to notice that this kid was special. While having played the sport a couple years less than his teammates, it didn't take him long to catch up to their skill level and even surpass it. His special talent got him scouted by VVV-Venlo (the local professional football club) in 2020 at the age of 12. Within their youth teams he would develop into a very strong player. His technical abilities, speed and agility resulted in him being played as a winger mostly but also able to play as a wingback. In 2024 he made his professional debut in the first team of VVV-Venlo in the second tier of Dutch football. His impressive performances there were spotted by the stronger teams in the country and he appeared on the shortlist of clubs like PSV Eindhoven and AZ. He was expected to make a move to either club in the next transfer window, but then he got surprised by another club wishing for his services. An email arrived from SSL Academy club Victoria Falls Eagles! This was the opportunity of a lifetime that he just couldn't refuse. He received the chance to become the second Lithuanian player to ever play in the SSL! With his academy year over now, he looks back at a strong season for him personally. The Victoria Fall Eagles have obviously been struggling the entire season, but he still managed to become the #1 player in the league in attempted crosses, successful crosses and key passes! Adding to that he developed in being an important figure in the team for the tactical approaches that were chosen for the matches. He's happy that multiple scouts have approached him and looks forward to working with any team that ends up picking him in the draft today! APPROVED RE: #1 Biography - LilGainz901 - 2025-04-07 Krish Gainz was born in Toronto, Canada where he initially played hockey during his free-time, but he wanted to play a team sport during the summer vacation. He tried american football, however, he was undersized and it would have been extremely unlikely for him to have made the necessary strides to make it to the big leagues. This resulted in Gainz playing soccer. During the grassroot stages, Gainz played primarily as a goalkeeper. He was agile and he did not shy away from any contact or interactions, especially 1 on 1s. However, after playing a few years as a goalie, Gainz wanted to be more involved with his team. He wanted to be the one that set up plays and that took an active role in defending players rather than being the last final line of defense and sometimes the person who is put into impossible situations. Gainz then decided to take his talents to defense where he started playing as a RB. Honestly, Gainz loved this new role. He was able to use his stamina, endurance and strength to truly make an impact on the field while also setting up offensive plays. However, there was one noticeable weakness; his dribbling. Playing as a goalkeeper for the past couple of years resulted in Gainz to have weak dribbling. He has able to out pace most of the players, especially due to his acceleration of the first step, lateral movement, and agility. However, he did not have the skill sets to perform a skill and dribble past multiple midfielders and defenders. He did not let up though, and practiced this attribute for months on end. Trying to perform elasticos, reverse elasticos and other skills just to give him that edge. Eventually he was able to improve, but in doing so he also truly improved his agility even more than what it was at before. This resulted him in deciding to move up to RWB where he can have a strong offensive impact and then run back to defense and defend against the opposition. APPROVED RE: #1 Biography - Caydog - 2025-04-07 Adébó De Los Santos was born in Paris, France and his Father has always kept him near a soccer ball since he's been out the womb, Literally! His Father would always let Adébó feel the soccer ball and slightly kick it around with his little feet. As he grew up Adébó was quickly recognized as one of the best and he joined the PSG Academy at Age 4. Throughout his time in the Academy Adébó worked with Elite Trainers and Coaches, learning how to beat out the competition and be the best even at his Young Age. He continued to train and eventually gained Attention all throughout France as the best young football player, gaining more fame than some professional football players. His Father tried to profit off all of this attention and did so, as Adébó gained a lot of money, going on interviews and playing against teams and what not. At Age 13 Adébó went on an interview and was asked, how he felt about all the attention and would he ever try and go pro, Adébó responded, "Tu te fous de moi? Bien sûr, je vais devenir professionnel, je suis meilleur que tout le monde dans le pays. je suis déjà meilleur que certains professionnels." Now some people said this was a very cocky statement from a 13 year old who hasn't played any true competition yet. Adébó would put his money where his mouth was though, rolling through the Academy competition and quickly making the Academy first team at Age 15. Throughout this time Adébó worked his way up to PSG at age 16. Now most during this time thought that Adébó would become a star just like the likes of Mbappe, or Haland, but all the fame got to his head and he was quickly humbled, as he was nowhere near the talent level of the true Pros. In an Interview he said, "Je veux dire, je ne sais pas ce qui s’est passé. J’en ai tellement marre. Ma performance au cours de ces matchs a été tellement pathétique, je n’arrive pas à y croire." Because of Poor Performance and not living up to standards Adébó was released from PSG at age 16, and he is now trying to prove himself in the SSL, despite everyone saying he was just a hyped up youngster. Now at Rock Bottom, Adébó has something to prove, and he's now more humble than ever, ready to work to get back to the top. APPROVED - love that French ego. RE: #1 Biography - Vishy - 2025-04-09 Who IS Dissa Pointment? No one really knows. It's said that Dissa Pointment was an uncoordinated person growing up with no real experience with soccer. Pointment's friends and family say their best memory of him playing as a kid was picking up the soccer ball and running it across the field like he was playing flag football. Pointment growing up was a runner. He ran XC - but wasn't necessarily good at it. Pointment never had an inkling to play soccer; however, he gained more interest in the sport after watching the fictional team Liverpool as well as reading and watching Blue Lock. Then, suddenly, a friend from long ago sent him a file, containing all the American government's secrets on the sport of soccer. Contained in this file was all of the knowledge of every legend of the sport, the different moves these players use, the strategy they've learned...everything in this file WAS soccer. Not knowing what this file was, Pointment opened it. Opening the file burned the information into his head, turning him into a god of soccer. While all of the knowledge in the world was engrained into him, only he could work to become good at the game of soccer. With this new-found knowledge, Pointment got in the lab. He scoured the world for the greatest, underground soccer coaches that could mold him into a god. He tried out many positions: CAM, LW, LB, GOALIE, RB, but his passion led him to be aggressive, to be a striker. He chose to be a striker and worked to become the best he could be. Alexander Isak and Yamal are the two players he wanted to mold his game after. He found about the SSL and knew he wanted to join. It would be hard; however, as he never played competitive soccer before and was unknown to the world. Luckily, the SSL took the chance on Pointment, and he's ready to prove himself. 324 WORDS APPROVED RE: #1 Biography - gaucho12 - 2025-04-11 Born in Misiones, Argentina to a humble family that lived in a farm on the outskirts of Posadas. His family had been there for a generation tilling the farm but Xavier knew he wanted a better life for him and his family. He began playing at Bartolome Mitre in their youth system. First starting as a CDM he found his way to CB where he really shined, although he was rather short in stature for a modern day center back, his grit and determination came through as he flew into tackles every weekend. He did well enough to be playing at the U15 level as a 12 year old before making it to the reserve team at the age of 16. One day a Colombian scout was trying to make his way by car to see the Ruins of San Ignacio before had his eye caught by a reserve game. The scout described his love for the beautiful game to be just that, beautiful, so he stayed and watch the young men play. After a couple of minutes of play before Xavier went studs up into a player from the opposing team. The ref correctly red carded him but Xavier still complained as he believed he was in the right as the opposing player was acting like an imbecile. The Colombian scout was surprisingly impressed and believed that Xavier would make a great addition to his academy, Atletico Medellin. Matias Xavier impressed in his rookie season scoring 5 goals, 4 from the penalty spot, and even more surprisingly never getting a red card. While he did rile up the opposition it seemed like he knew that those kind of tackles wouldn't fly in the top leagues. After the season finished where Medellin finished mid-table, he was selected by Montreal United in the fourth round. He hopes to impress in the upcoming season. APPROVED RE: #1 Biography - Nol15736 - 2025-04-13 (Not in word count - I kind of did a bio as my first article for the academy task. I won't paste it but I am going to quickly recap it to start this) There was not a lot of soccer being played in Western Pennsylvania when Chicken McTendie was young. He was an athletic kid, gave baseball and football a try but neither seemed to stick. After seeing a soccer game on TV he decided to go out for his high school team. Originally a striker McTendie was moved to goalie based on his build and from there his high school career was a rousing success. Fast forward a couple years McTendie moved across the pond and found a club league in the outskirts of London. He quickly latched on with a team, and began playing in local tournaments. His playstyle was erratic, he didn't play keeper the way anyone else did. He was often out of the box, and moving up the field in what seemed like reckless abandon. However it worked. Quickly his teammates began to adapt to McTendies playstyle. They knew that while it was strange for a goalie to come out as far as he did, he always was aware of the opposing forwards and had a knack of getting a pass up the field to his strikers at just the right time. While it did leave the team vulnerable to some long distance goals, he was athletic and quick enough to get back into place most of the time and Chickens team ended up winning the club league title in his first season. During the offseason Chicken got together with some teammates and they introduced him to an academy recruiter. While all told Chicken had only been playing soccer for about 5 years the recruiter saw something in him and offered Chicken a spot in the academy. There is certainly a lot for Chicken to learn still, but with all the tools at his disposal all Chicken needs now is a team to take a shot on him and he has every intention on making sure that his team takes home as many SSL championships as they can. APPROVED RE: #1 Biography - Thunder39 - 2025-04-13 Maverick Jones didn’t follow the traditional path. The Ottawa-born keeper passed up the safe route through Canadian development leagues and instead landed in Medellin, Colombia, where he now starts in goal for Atlético Medellin’s SSL Academy side. It’s a bold choice — but then again, bold is kind of his thing. At just 18, Jones already plays with the poise of someone who’s seen a few more seasons than he actually has. He doesn’t just protect the net. He dictates tempo. A natural sweeper-keeper, he thrives in chaos — rushing off his line to intercept through balls, calling out cover for defenders, and launching attacks with a single pass. His instincts for the game are sharp. His confidence, sharper. What separates him isn’t just raw athleticism or shot-stopping — though those are both in his toolkit. It’s his vision. In a league that punishes hesitation, Jones rarely flinches. The ball hits his gloves and he’s already thinking two moves ahead. Whether it’s a quick release up the flank or a long drive through the middle, he sees space before it opens. He’s not just cleaning up mistakes. He’s starting plays. Back in Ottawa, coaches saw it early. They saw how vocal he was, how focused he stayed even when his team had the ball. At a national showcase, he stood out not with flashy saves but with calm control. Medellin noticed, too. And now, on a team stacked with pace and technical ability, Jones fits in like he was always meant to be there. He’s adjusting quickly — on and off the field. Learning the language, learning the rhythms. He blends in when he needs to, but his game speaks loud enough on its own. For Atlético Medellin, and for Canadian soccer fans watching from afar, this is one worth keeping an eye on. APPROVED RE: #1 Biography - DigDoug11 - 2025-04-13 I'm not the best at writing so apologies in advance! One day while working on the Baratie, Sanji was just finishing his last ticket of the service when a letter arrived with sanjis name on it. Sanji never got mail, so this was shocking to everyone, inside the letter was an invitation to a soccer academy in the SSL. Sanji was about to rip up the letter so that he could get back to work, but Zeff stopped him. Zeff knew that Sanji had no future here, but Sanji didn't want to leave, the Baratie was his home, and Zeff had saved him and taken him in, they were family. RE: #1 Biography - gucci - 2025-04-17 Born on the sun soaked shores of Natal, Brazil, Sandro da Silva is a dynamic wingback whose rise through the academy ranks has been nothing short of electric. Known for his blistering pace, fearless dribbling, and pinpoint crosses, Sandro is Jogo Bonito in its purest form. Growing up in a working class neighborhood near the coast, Sandro’s first pitches were alongside the beaches of Rio Grande do Norte, where he honed his touch barefoot in the sand. His playing style is deeply rooted in the rhythm of street football, fused with an unrelenting work ethic passed down from his parents. Even in his earliest academy days, coaches described him as a once in a generation talent, a player capable of taking over a match with a single surge down the wing. Sandro quickly made a name for himself with his attacking instincts and defensive tenacity. Drawing early comparisons to a young Gareth Bale, he became known for his trademark move. Pushing the ball into space and exploding past defenders, only to whip in low-driven crosses or cutbacks that wreak havoc in the box. But it’s not just his physical gifts that set him apart. It’s his humility, discipline, and deep faith that continue to fuel his ascent. This season, Sandro took a bold step in his career by leaving Brazil to sign his first pro contract with Sydney City FC in Australia. The move marked the beginning of a new chapter as he looks to test himself on a new continent and continue his development on the international stage. For Sandro, it’s more than just football, it’s about representing his roots, honoring his family, and bringing joy to the game every time he steps on the pitch. Whether he’s making last ditch tackles or flying up the right flank with the ball at his feet, Sandro da Silva plays with a passion that transcends borders. With Sydney City, he’s looking to bring his unique brand of Brazilian brilliance to the Academy League and progress through the ranks of world football.
