RE: #1 Biography - Nol15736 - 2025-06-19 Chicken McTendie was hatched just outside of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and his parents Buffalo and Grilled McTendie couldn’t have been happier. The only egg of their litter to hatch Chicken came into the world and immediately they knew good things were on the horizon for their boy. Chicken grew at a rapid pace, easily surpassing the normal bird size expected and soon looming at a little over 5 ft tall by his 12th birthday. He also was able to pick up the human language and to everyone’s surprise he decided to walk instead of fly anywhere he went. Chickens favorite place to go was Highmark Stadium to watch the Riverhounds play. As he continued to learn the language and grow Chicken soon also began to mimic the goaltender Randy Dedini and it was apparent to everyone that he was going to be a goalie sooner than later. At 16 Chicken was now a little over 6ft tall and was on his own local team when he was discovered by a scout and invited to a 16U program where he stood out not only for his bright yellow feathers, but also because he was by far the best netminder in the camp. It soon became clear that the camp wasn’t enough competition so SSL scouts were brought in to scout the big yellow fellow. While he wasn’t invited initially they kept tabs on his budding career and shortly after his 18th birthday he was invited to join the Victoria Eagles Academy squad in the SSL and he went home to tell his parents that it was time for him to leave the nest. Chicken’s time in the academy didn’t go as well as he had hoped, but he did show enough to get noticed by the coaches in the Uniao Sao Paulo organization thought it would be wise to make him their first round pick. Chicken is now off to Paris to begin his SSL career in the minor leagues. And for this bird the sky truly is the limit. Approved - Yellow Fellow brings Young MC's "Bust a Move" to mind, somehow. RE: #1 Biography - Bayley - 2025-06-19 Joseph Mathys Hendry or more commonly known as JMH is from Wormer, Netherlands. Growing up, he did not necessarily have it very easy. He always BELIEVED in himself, even when others did not. His parents were always very supportive of his soccer journey, though, they did not have the money to pay for the fancy soccer schools, or send him to fancy soccer coaches. Everything JMH did on his own. So, that is really the start of where JMH came from. He always BELIEVED in himself. That is what fuels him. He always had the knack for finding the right player, finding the open player. His coach through the younger years would always try to put him at the Striker position as he was always one of the more gifted players on the team, but even when there was a shot on goal, he always would look to pass. That is where his coach finally just gave up and put him back in the Midfield, and that is where it all took off. His knack for finding open players, playing the right players, and playing simple passes was what really opened up his game. He was always leading the team in assists, never the scorer. But, that again gave him things to work on. His game is not the most polished at the SSL level, but he will make plays. He is someone that never gave up. So, when it comes to the SSL, expect more of the same. He's not a very well-rounded player as of yet, but he knows what he does, and he does it very well. He always takes feedback on what to do better which is what his coaches always appreciated about him. When you get JMH on your team, you better BELIEVE that you are getting a player that has worked up from the bottom and will work to be the best player in the class. Give him time, because it will be worth it. At the end of the day... just tell JMH that you BELIEVE in Joseph Mathys Hendry. Approved - I believe! Words: 349 RE: #1 Biography - Aenir - 2025-06-21 Stepping through the portal that was carelessly left open, Beezle Bot looked around. This world didn’t seem too different from his own. In fact, it was nearly identical to the world he left behind. He summoned a parchment that had the name of the perpetrator of the portal opening. Bernardo Fry was the name on the computerized scroll, and it pointed towards the nearest building. Beezle went towards it. He opened the door and a powerful stench wafted out. It was the local fish market. “Ah Ha! He must have started a job as a fisherman! I can take the job and wait for him to make a mistake, then I will act!” Beezle started the job and was quite good at it, robotic hands being far superior to meat hands that will always touch things and be squishy. Some 3 years later, Beezle happens to look at the parchment again, and realizes its flashing and still pointing in a direction that wasn’t related to the job he has taken. Beezle immediately leaves and heads towards the direction indicated. He finally gets to the convention center where they are announcing the formation of a new Soccer league, the SSL! Curses! He was too early! The stupid portal sent him to the time before Bernardo even showed up. He needed to wait 18 more years before he even showed up! Beezle got frustrated at this turn of events it makes him angry when technology doesn’t work like it is supposed to. Now having to wait nearly 2 decades for the time line to align itself, Beezle does what anyone else would when waiting for time to pass quickly. He went to Atlantic City and begin to build a version of robot hell that would persist through to the future. He was so engrossed about coming up with punishments for things such as Cigars, Gambling, Forging phony IOUs, stealing from Boy Scouts, Nuns, and Banks, and the worst of all. Selling bootleg tapes! (Musicians need the income to Survive!) That he missed the portal opening again. When he realized he had missed the time (again!) he decided to join the SSL to try to find this Bernardo Fry (Having long lost the parchment) and to set the timeline back to its initial state. 381 Words - - - I don't understand, but Approved all the same. "Be'el zeBot has a devil put an aside for me.... for meeeeee.... for MEEEEEEEEEE!" RE: #1 Biography - Dmac1200 - 2025-06-24 (377 words) Joao Cancello's story start out in a small, poverty stricken village in Portugal. The 90's were a tough time where his life was mostly all work and chores before any opportunities to play. With nothing but a makeshift ball and some sticks in the ground to create a goal, Joao found an early love for soccer. Between grabbing water from the local well, and delivering fresh meats for the local butcher, Cancelo would meet with his childhood friends to pass the time and dream of following in the footsteps of Portugal's greatest treasure, Christiano Ronaldo. It was during this time that Joao learned just how fulfilling it was to support your teammates to the ultimate successes. He honed his abilities to allow his teammates to shine, focusing on controlling the ball as second nature, Cancelo learned every aspect of how to make every pass go exactly where he wants it. Although he was never recognized at a young age for his talents, Joao knew that other teammates earned recognition thats to his abilities to support them. That was always enough for him as he continued through life in the conventional way, going through school and eventually entering the work force. The itch to play still followed Joao, so he continued to participate in a men's recreational soccer league in his free time. Continuing to play as he did when he was younger, he was always able to help find ways to bring his team the victory. Growing discontent with others being able to move on to bigger leagues, Joao began to question his own abilities as to whether or not he really was supporting his team as much as he always thought. Sure, piling up assists and creating key chances was still happening, but no one was trying to get his autograph or recruit him to an amateur team. That was until he was stopped after a championship win by a stranger named Roque. Roque saw exactly what Joao was capable of and knew exactly what he needs to work on to improve. He set up a tryout for the Sydney City academy team. The team managers must have seen something in him because yesterday was his debut where he recorded his first assist for the club. Approved RE: #1 Biography - lowkeyazombie - 2025-06-24 The story of Gianlugia Bufoon begins in Palermo, the capital of Sicily, Italy. Born to lower middle class parents Melchore and Giuseppa, Gianlugia was often found working the fields of his family farm when he was not in school. For as long as he can remember, he played football. Hell, he might have been kicking and passing balls long before he could even walk. It was a life away from his own, and he worked hard to excel at the sport. Winning a championship with his team in scuola primaria, Gianlugia knew from an early age that he wanted to be a football player when he grew up. That dream was solidified even more so when in 2006, Gianlugia watched as Italy took home the world cup. The celebrations were endless in Palermo, with laughter and cheer a constant and lingering feeling during those days post championship. He remembers when the goalkeeper of that squad, and his spiritual namesake, Gianluigi Buffon came to Palermo to meet with the fans. Gianlugia waited for hours to make sure he was as close to the front of the line as possible, and when it was his turn, he began blurting out as much as he could about how amazing Gianluigi was, how awesome that cup win was for all of Italy, and how one day Gianlugia would be a great Italian goalkeeper just like Gianluigi. It was here where one of his idols told him "Se lavori duro, continui a studiare e ad allenarti ogni giorno, so che un giorno sarai grande. Devi sempre avere fiducia in te stesso, non dimenticarlo mai". Gianlugia never forgot that day, and did as he was instructed to by his idol. Football became second to none after than, annoy his father and mother with constant requests for new balls, cleats, or gloves. But his parents saw his drive and passion for the sport, and knew that it was something that needed to be nurtured. The boy would be great one day thanks to his drive and passion, and they would do all they could to reward his efforts. Little did they know that would mean shipping their ragazzino off to new cities as he climbed the ranks, and they could never have expected that he would be moving to Australia to continue his journey. His family emigrated to the United Kingdom before his fourth birthday, settling in Brixton in South London. This was a mixed bag, as decisions ago. The family had fewer money worries and access to opportunities they could never have dreamed of back home, but Brixton can be a tough place to grow up. Nyron became acutely aware of this at the age of about 10, when he started gaining some independence. By 12, he had learned enough street lessons to get by - never buy what anyone offers to sell you on a street corner, and if someone in unseasonally warm clothing asks to look at your phone, run. Nyron had something else keeping him on the straight and narrow - football. Doing well enough in school meant his parents allowed him out to the parks, playgrounds and cages of South London on evenings and weekends to play the game that he loved. They thought it kept him out of trouble. Also, he was pretty good at it. The same burst of speed that kept his iPhone in his possession was lethal on a football pitch. He grew bigger, faster and stronger, and developed a left foot capable of doing anything he wanted with a football. By 15, he was the captain of his school team, playing Saturday youth football for his local club, and playing Sunday League with grown men. Sundays were the real lesson - he soon became accustomed to physical play and a world of dirty tricks. SSL scouts don't show up every day, so when a smartly dressed gentleman turned up to watch his club game one Saturday, word quickly began to spread. A few of the lads on the team bluffed that they must be getting signed - everyone knew who they were here to see. This was confirmed after the game. "Hi Nyron, I'm from the Simulation Soccer League. I'd like to have a chat with you and your parents about your future." (334) Approved RE: #1 Biography - BJ_Munro - 2025-06-27 When it comes to football, most stories involve a rough start. Few chances, not much money or resources. Most players pursue football not only because of their love for the game, but because they - and their families - are in desperate need of a better life. Benjamin Munro’s story is different. Very different. Born in Santiago, Chile, Ben’s family didn’t struggle. They weren’t rich, but they could afford a good life. Good enough for Ben never to consider pursuing anything else than a proper, advanced education. And so, he did. By the time he was 17, there weren’t many questions about his future. Good grades, good enough to get him into a top university. Now, Ben had always loved football. Arguably more than anything else. He was fairly good at playing, but never really trained properly. Didn’t need to be a footballer, after all. Still, a part of him had always wondered if he’d be happier pursuing a career in football. Either as a player or manager. Hell, even a referee. Anything to get closer to the beautiful game. At the end of the day, though, studying was the safest choice. Securing his future was the priority. And Ben saw no real reason to give that option up to follow a dream he, himself, highly doubted he’d be able to achieve. Because, as much as he loved football, he didn’t think he had what it takes. Sure enough, Ben dropped the idea. Said goodbye to his dream. But life had other plans. Whatever happened next felt like an actual fever dream. Like that one Nike ad with the POV of a guy joining Arsenal. Ben was lucky enough to be the winner of an Instagram giveaway, getting the chance to train, for a day, with a prestigious Chilean club’s first team. He went - cause why wouldn’t he? And he excelled. God knows how, but he did. Word got out - from club to club, outside the country, outside the continent. More training sessions, more great performances. All too quick for Ben to take in just how ridiculous it all was. He had offers from all around South America. A couple from North America. But one caught his eye. İstanbul FK. Türkiye. Europe. The idea of playing for a European club was too tempting to refuse. Before he knew it, he and his family were in Istanbul. New house. New country. New language. New career. New future. Ben still had a huge lot of stuff to get used to. Starting with learning how to be an actual footballer. And as days went by, he signed his contract and prepared to play his first academy game, all Ben could think of was - when would he wake up? Approved RE: #1 Biography - FaraDian - 2025-06-30 He can sit. He can wait. He can fast. He can stop. He can feed. He can rock. Siddhartha Kilgannon is simply built different. Raised different. And he's plays different. His father is a strong-willed Columbian journalist and his mother a French-Indian poet who met in Paris. They spent much of their twenties and thirties in the City of Light, including celebrating the birth of Siddhartha. But as expenses grew and they wanted more space for him, the couple moved to Kozhikode, India's famed City of Literature. Despite his Buddhist name, young Siddhartha fell in love with the Hindu ritual of Theyyam, largely through the influence of the Gokulam Kerala football club whose iconography is influenced by its art and music. That music became his first calling, though teenage Sidd was splitting his time between playing guitar and playing footy. Though his parents worried about his financial prospects, their own backgrounds in art and writing made sure they always supported his artistic ambitions. But Sidd kept growing. And growing further still. His size and strengthed, combined with his immense capacity for focus, soon showed that football offered him a career that music possibly could not. As he trained and moved up the club system, he began to see the pitch as his stage. The movement of the ball was sometimes the ritual pace of religious music, and at other times became the building roar of the progressive rock he'd been trying to create as an artist. Now Kilgannon stands 78 inches tall, weighs 236 pounds, and is a pillar of the game. His teammates call him Beast and his opponents call him so much worse. Beyond his physical prowess, Siddhartha uses techniques from the stage to drive the crowd wild and get inside the heads of his competitors. When the ball goes out of touch, his stoic focus on defense explodes into energy felt throughout the stadium. Sydney City came calling and it was clear that he had outgrown his home. So now he sets out on his journey in the SSL, and begins to compose the grand opera that will be his career. Approved - Beast Mode coming to the SSL RE: #1 Biography - slothfacekilla - 2025-07-02 Maarten Slothlenburg is the newest Simulation Soccer League prospect from Benelux region looking to make his mark on the league in the future. Hailing from the city of Haarlem, Maarten is a distant relative of the former SSL star Edwin van der Sloth. He credits Edwin's influence and career for choosing football as his passion and is looking to make his own mark on the SSL landscape. Originally Maarten wanted to score goals like van der Sloth, but he quickly found that he packed the necessary skills to truly thrive in that roll. Thus, his journey as a goalkeeper began as an early teen in the Netherlands. Slothlenburg began his journey to becoming one of the best SSL goalkeeper prospects the old fashioned way: trying to stop household objects thrown by his parents at him. If he can save a wrench he can save a ball his father always told him. After long hours of swatting down various appliances, Maarten took his newfound talents to the pitch playing for his school's team to moderate success. Despite his parents' best efforts through throwing random things at Slothlenburg, he never seemed to dominate against his school peers in those ensuing years, putting up only average at best results. With his school career winding down Maarten wondered if his chosen path for the future was the right one after all. While dining on a Turkish pizza at home one day, Maarten got a curious message from a scout in the Simulation Soccer League inviting him to apply for an academy spot in the league's upcoming season. Surely this message was meant for someone else, Slothlenburg thought to himself. "I think you have the wrong email address!" he wrote back, writing off any legitimacy of the message. But no came the reply, this was meant for him! Apparently there was merely one other goalkeeper prospect entering into the SSL's academy, with the other keeper spots being manned by cyborg players who are ineligible for drafting, and the league needed Maarten's warm body to fill a spot! Well, it wasn't exactly the ringing endorsement of his skills that Maarten needed, but he figured it was better than nothing. Slothlenburg, wishing to avoid falling into an office job, accepted the league's invitation to their academy and quickly found himself assigned to the academy team out of Stockholm. With the academy resources available to him, Slothlenburg vowed to train harder than he ever had before, hoping to transform himself from merely a placeholder into a legitimate goalkeeper prospect for the SSL teams. So far, Maarten has seen his fair share of ups and downs in the academy games but hopes that he use his team's recent success to bolster his own skills on the pitch. It will be interesting to see where he goes from here in his SSL career. 473 words whoops Appoved - I expect Slothlenburg to be more then a warm body! RE: #1 Biography - OTK - 2025-07-03 Ozzy Trent Kovács has entered the SSL scene seemingly out of nowhere. In his early years he's never really shown much interest in football. Preferring the more solistic ballsports of tennis and golf he spent his time working on his skills and more importantly, ball control. During his practice sessions he seemed to have some pretty handy feet to his disposal. When his local football club placed an advert looking for more players, he decided he wanted to try his luck with a team sport. It turns out that wasn't a bad move. Where in tennis and golf he was mediocre at best, he quickly turned into one of the better football players at the club. He started off as a left wing back, given his strong left foot, speed and decent ball control. Determination was lacking a bit and his tackling and marking weren't up there. On the other hand, he turned out to be a half decent dribbler with a tendency of placing the ball wherever he wanted it shooting at goal. His coach put him on the right wing as the left wing was taken by the youth teams star player. This turned out to be a golden move. Many have thought that starting at such a late age he'd have a huge disadvantage to the kids that have been playing all their lives. Quite the contrary, at the young age of 15 he's made his first appearance on the first team on the last league game of the season when nothing was left to play for. It took some time to get used to the step up to senior level. Showing a few glimpses of his potential, he was mostly overshadowed by the much physically stronger opposition. The first 45 minutes in senior amateur level football were an inspiration to go forward. Over the next two years he continued to develop his skills and gotten a lot stronger. His growth hasn't gone unnoticed as he's been succesfully scouted by the SSL academy. He will be hugely missed by his now old teammates and the step to SSL will only open up more doors to his development and seemingly promising international football career. Approved |
