Weekly PT 240 - Spree - 2026-06-28

First 2 match days are done and under the belt for us, here at Montreal and honestly it's been a couple games that on the face of it looks like bad results, but on the grander scheme of things might not be too bad!

First game we've drew with Masques, who are a strong team and bolstered their roster during the draft quite significantly where they picked up the likes of Saphira Brightscales, Sadie Black, Isaiah Ali, and Le Chonk. So coming in to the first game of the season we knew we had to be at the top of our game! Going down 1-0 wasn't ideal but we shown what we're made of and the grit of the team by pulling it back and even going ahead to 2-1, but ultimately a 78th equaliser proved the kicker for us… and then to add insult to injury after continuing to push for a winner, a winner we did indeed find in Haye’s 88th minute goal however, the officials would deem it offside and so 2-2 was how the game ended.

A resilient performance all round from the team to get back in front but a gut punch towards the end would even us out and see our first game of the season end in a draw.
Now we move on to what I believe to be a title contending team in Rova Mpanjaka. A very even affair between the 2 teams with us having the better of posession but Rova actually having the better chances on the day, it would take them to the 76th minute before they found a breakthrough with an impressive strike from Thomas Schwarte to break the deadlock… and that would be how the game ends sadly for us.

Overall it looks like a disappointing start until you actually look into the games with a bit more depth, a game we could've arguable won if not for a late equaliser and a chopped off goal, and another game against one of the strongest in the division. Plenty of positives to take into the rest of the season and no reason for our heads to drop!
