With Canada losing in round of 16 against Morocco, i would like to reflect on canada world cup Journey. Game 1 against Bosnia with a score of 1-1 Draw, Canada showed lots of chances and dominated the game. Bosnia knocking out Italy to come to world cup i had a feeling they would be tough to play against especially the first game of the tournament. Canada could not finished at all in game 1 but it was an exciting thing to see that were producing chances. Game 2 was a blow out against Qatar who was a very weak team and not shocking at all with the score of 6-0. Qatar had 2 red cards in the game , the game almost looked like a 5 on 3 in hockey how much control they had. Game 3 was against the Swiss , canada lost 2-1 Unfortunately i missed alot of the game because i was at work. Watching replays tho canada was producing chances once again and just couldn't finish. With Players on the Swiss like Xhaka who plays for sunderland being a great captain for that club, We knew the swiss would be very hard to beat and they are very well coached and great captain. Canada Finished overall 2nd in the Group behind the Swiss. Round of 32 was against South Africa, who i think canada should have easily beat took 92' Minute Stephen Eustaquio Probably the biggest Goal in Canadian Soccer/ Football history, was an insane strike. Round of 16 Against the Up and coming if not already here Morocco who been playing great this whole world cup and personally my dark horse of the Tournament. Unfortunately Canada couldn't score a goal when they had control of the first half, missed a huge opportunity could have changed the game completely. Morocco the 2nd half picked up the pace and canada couldn't keep up making very huge mistakes leaving guys open and that is how morocco scored the first goal. Overall canada lost 3-0 to Morocco which isnt surprising but i had hope being canadian. Overall the World Cup for Canada i think was a success, For young canadians watching i hope they take this in and start developing. The next world Cup we should be even stronger and hopefully have some superstars in the lineup for next world cup. Canadian Soccer/ Football is coming and as a canadian myself i know my country can be very determined the floodgates have opened im excited for the Future of Canadian Football !!
