- Sermokala - 2022-03-20 I know a few people are seeing a red flag but don't worry. I accepted being a Manager just after the draft in S1 because the guy who branded Rio and drafted the first season bailed and I was the only one who was interested on the team. Near the end of this last season, I decided I didn't want to be a manager anymore. I didn't want to be a manager from the first place and after it became apparent that a couple of my players wanted to become managers I felt that I didn't have to carry that burden anymore. Needless to say nothing ever good happened while I was Manager and I know I made a lot of mistakes, some obvious and most not. To those that are interested in being a manager, or wondering a little what its like, I wanted to write about those less obvious mistakes. There are a few things I'm interested in talking about but hey this is also really easy media bait so we will see how long this will go on until I run out of material or motivation. Seeing how I'm already at 200 words or so from here I'm not going to go into the first topic I wanted to talk about, which I will do next week. That topic is about a management philosophy that I think can work well in anything where you're in charge of something that has strategy involved. But in the following weeks, I'll need some more ideas. If you have any ideas or topics you can comment and I might steal your idea for more media. At some point I'm going to explain how to sim to people (hint you don't need to be a manager or even in a war room to do it) and at another I'm going to explain how the principle of diagonal drafting works. But I will leave you with the title of my next Media piece "Don't make plans, make options" - omniscius - 2022-03-21 Interested in reading this series. I also low-key only became a manager because of a league need and it's my first time managing a sim team. Hopefully your wisdom will help new managers and managers like me that are still pretty green. Edit: would be interested in reading about your ideas for keeping a roster active and engaged. |
