After starting the season with five straight losses, Inter London knew that this was going to be a big week for them in terms of how the rest of the season was going to play out. Will they continue to lose every game, or will they start showing more fight in their performances and try to climb back out of the relegation zone? I think we got our answer.
The first match this week saw Inter London take on Rapid Magyar SC. The match ended in a 2-2 draw. After two goals from Arsene N'Goussou in the first half from the opponent, Chris McZehrl was able to tuck in a penalty and bring the score level just eight minutes later. The first point of the season and a huge confidence booster for the young team. Joao Mendes had one of his better games of the season, with a 7.2 match rating, with 15km covered in the game, a true workhorse performance in the middle of the park.
The second match of the week saw Inter London play against AS Paris, who are currently undefeated with a perfect 6-0-0 record. Inter London was able to get a shock result with a 1-1 draw. Maujiro Rivers was able to tuck one of the few chances London had after a pass from Chris McZehrl. Although AS Paris had 32 shots compared to six from the London side, they were able to stay compact and trust their defensive tactics. A huge shoutout to the entire defensive line and goalie Joseph Daniel Kakou for an outstanding performance.
Two points in two games after losing 5 straight is a step in the right direction for Inter London, especially after stealing a huge point against the best team in the league. They know that if they continue to grind together as a team, this comeback is very possible.
