Meet the Paulie Wag (Rapid Fire FAQs) - Pelochyta - 2026-07-17 Some people might know this about me from other sim leagues but I am, by and large, not a fan of the traditional "scouting" conversations that go on in the lead up to the draft. The things I don't like about scouting conversations include, but are not limited to, the following: - I find myself incredibly cringe and awkward in 1 on 1 conversations (especially when I don't really know the person). This is the largest consideration, to be honest. - The repetitive nature of getting scouted by ten teams or whatever who all want to know the same information about me and my player - The "job interview" of it all where the scout is trying to sell the team as a good place to be, and I am trying to sell me as a good user - Lastly, part of it is the "check list" nature that a lot of scouts employ to get said answers to find out if I'm a good user/earner. I understand that I'm not in main (more on that below) so it's possible some scouts aren't familiar with who I am from other sim leagues. With all of that in mind I wanted to use my PT time to answer some questions that come up all the time, and then I can just link it when scouts reach out. If you're a scout reaching out, hello! I'd be glad to talk more in depth about any of this, or about anything else I didn't really answer, please ask away in my DMs! Q: Do you watch / keep up with football? A: No. I used to play New Star Soccer on my phone and that's really the extent of my knowledge. Shoutout Harrogate Town AFC though, carried those bums up to the highest level. Q: Why did you create at CB? A: I strongly prefer playing defense (which I also play in the ISFL and SHL), and CB seemed to be an in-demand position, from the brief talks I saw before creating. Q: Are you willing to swap? A: I would prefer to stay at CB, but if there's organizational blockage at the position I am open to moving to another position. Preferably covered by the team somehow since I am new and broke. Q: What are your goals for Paulie Wag? A: I am unfortunately incapable of not trying my best, so I am aiming to max earn (or pretty close to it). We'll see if it's true max earning or just high based on if I can keep writing long PTs. I'd love to compete for whatever awards center backs can win, and hopefully be put in a position to compete for those by the team. Q: What are you looking for in a team? A: I don't mind if you're rebuilding. Competing at some point in Wag's career would be cool, but ultimately I'm just looking for a good place to hang out and chat, and to see how well Paulie Wag can do. Q: Do you care if the team is or isn't competitive, in a rebuild, headed quickly for one, etc? A: No. Any level of competing is fine. Q: Do you know how to spend your TPE? A: No. I will need my hand held like the little baby I am. Q: Why aren't you in main? A: I am not interested in linking my phone number to my discord account, which is required to join the main server. Q: Will you join the team server, then? A: As long as you don't require linking a phone number to a discord account, yes. :) Q: How will you earn money / are you looking for a league job? A: Right now, and for the foreseeable future, I am making money via PTs. I don't think I've done one under 1,000 words yet so hopefully I can keep that strong for a bit and store up money for later on. I'm not opposed to a job, but I do a lot of stuff in other sim leagues so I'd really need to find something that works for me. I do a lot of my sim jobs during work hours (shoutout to my job) so that's kind of a limiting factor in terms of timeline and such. So far I haven't really seen anything that appeals to me in the job sub-forum (Editor's note: This PT is under 1,000 words so there goes that streak.) Q: Do you want to be a scout, or be in the war room? A: No. Like I said up above I am bad at scouting and generally feel very awkward during it (which is very much a me problem but I can only change so many things about myself). I think the only real value I can bring to a war room is how I, personally, feel about users. If you're interested in that, great! Q: Any demands for your contract? A: No demands, but a role in the locker room that makes my name pink would be cool. Thanks again for reading. Hopefully I didn't come off as too much of a sourpuss :) I just would prefer scouting conversations to be more free-form in nature instead of something closer to a check list, and getting all these answers here will hopefully help with that. Draft isn't too far away so excited to talk to whatever scout(s) reach out! |
