Presenting the new AS Paris mascot! - anjro - 2026-07-20 This is an extension of my series where I look at possible mascot/names for the different teams in the SSL. Majors & Minors: https://forum.simulationsoccer.com/showthread.php?tid=9663 Academy: https://forum.simulationsoccer.com/showthread.php?tid=9611 AS Paris Mascot Suggestions: https://forum.simulationsoccer.com/showthread.php?tid=10077 When we last left our heroes, I had nominated four different options for mascots for AS Paris: Gargoyles, Lions, Bees, and Roosters. After that post, I put up a poll in the locker room to let the organization decide the direction we should take. I now have the results of the poll here (actually, I have had them for a while, but I wanted to wait for a PT to release this article). Drum roll please… Your AS Paris... Spoiler (click to show) What a crazy result right? Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, I am trying to determine the best way to represent the new mascot. My current brainstorm options are: a chimera of them, a gargoyle that is a bee and rooster hybrid (honestly, this sounds like nightmare fuel), and my favorite - RGB: Rooster, Gargoyle, and Bee. Anyone have any suggestions? Another option that utilizes all three is to have separate mascots for each area of the league. One could represent the team in Division 1, another for Division 2, and the last for The Cup. I think that is a pretty cool way to honor each of the winners. My only knock on this option is that AS Paris is always going to be in Division 1 so it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to have a mascot for Division 2 RIGHT? For now, I will give my suggested options for which mascot should be for each area. Cup – Gargoyle. This immediately stood out to me among all the options. Thematically I think it fits really nicely since the Cup is this distinct thing separate from the division you’re competing in. When the team is doing their division match days the gargoyle is in its stone/statue form. When the team is participating in The Cup the gargoyle is active. Divisions – Between the Rooster and the Bee, it seems to me just on size I would have Rooster as Division 1 and Bee as Division 2. A Bee is more likely to evolve into a Rooster than the other way around. I am not sure there are any other reasons that would need to be considered but I am open to suggestions for why it should be the other way around. For now, there you have it. A bit inconclusive unfortunately. What do you think? RE: Presenting the new AS Paris mascot! - Daleks - 2026-07-21 For me it definitely has to be the rooster, since it is actually a national animal for France and Paris. Plus, I think you can make some pretty cute emotes with a rooster. Gargoyle and bee really does not evoke to me the the same feeling that it is in France. |
