Finally, my first S26 article (and some terrible games)... - Moka26 - 2026-07-24

Damn...

Life got in the way, training got in the way, and this new partnership with PurpleLabs got in the way too, even almost not finishing my workload at the sticker factory.

But anyway, I stole a day from them to work this article.

It's sad having to write it this late, because I could have cooked something much cooler after that insane performance against AS Paris. Instead I couldn't, I forfeited some of my activities in the data team and in a season that was already going downhill, I couldn't give my all everywhere too.

Thinking of it, We wanted at least to bring home a win in the 100-Years derby, unfortunately I couldn't hold them off any longer and we conceded. And worst, the guy who scored took that game's Player of The Match award away from me...

It went bad, terrible, and at one point (I guess it was two games before the North Shore one) I couldn't hold off and lashed out of anger in the... what is that room called ? war room, strategic room, whatever... and yeah...

The thing is, I conceded early, twice, and I mean those dives were so stupid I laughed out of disappointment and the silly karma (or something like that) that fell on me that day.

Then came the game against the only team we were statistically supposed to beat, before even considering the reinforcements we brought. I could not believe my eyes, when first our new striker got injured, then some guy on the other team faked an injury so Van would get a straight red, to then get up without any injury and harm our flagship S25 midfielder João Mendes, all that before the first half even ended.

I got some hope when O'Neil scored and brought us back into the game, only for them to put two more past us and technically seal our fate.

I guess our only trophy (and achievement) will be to beat Paris in the next derby, before winning the promotion playoffs.

I'll have to go back for training, we have a few games left and I really want us to win some, if not all of them... And if Magyar sleeps too much, maybe avoiding promotion playoffs altogether !

Bye then,
Moka.
