Going more in depth into Adowa Acra FC's performances - ScarlettMantis - 2026-07-28
I only joined the academy around matchday 8, so My analysis will begin there as Sirxo Masters joins the team at Left Wing Back.
Adowa is around the mid to lower end of the table. This is about where I would place them based on the performances I've seen, but right away the biggest thing that jumps out is the lack of cohesion on defense. Unfortunately Sirxo himself was on full display as the other team kept finding the right pass to break the line and get a good cross into the box. Fortunately for Acra however, the best player by far has been their incredible goalkeeper, Kagenori. Too often does the tender have to step up, yet almost as often does he arrive to make a brilliant save and bail the defender out.
However even such a keeper is not enough to win games if you can't seem to score. In most games you'll find Acra with a suspiciously high xg considering them usually being at zero goals scored. They succeed really well at driving the ball down the field. To give a personal touch, Sirxo has linked up really nicely with Holmberg and Krunk at times. But the finish just never seems to be there for one reason or another. In the first two games since I joined, more than half of the offense I've witnessed has passed through the left side with the previously mentioned trio. It's good to see one half connecting, but in order to win a game you need all eleven players to link up together as a unit.
Most recently Adowa got taken completely apart by the Victoria Falls Eagles. A crushing 4-0 loss which could've been much worse without a few offsides called showed the difference between the best in the academy and the worst. This is when the final piece of Adowa fell apart. The midfield cohesion that had allowed them to quickly take a ball from their own box all the way down the length of the field was completely missing and throughout the whole game it was rare for Acra to ever have a moment to breathe and as soon as the ball left their end it was right back.
If you missed it earlier, let me remind you that Kagenori is the highest performing player on the team, I would argue this statement stayed true for this game, even with such a barrage of goals. Victoria was allowed 20 shots on net, the majority of which were saved.
However. Recently there has been a dash of hope coming to the locker room. There has been a slow but steady supply of academy players arriving in Adowa and though the team hasn't begun winning yet. There have been many little flashes of a team that could bring out one amazing performance before the end of the academy season.
As the draft soon approaches. Keep a keen eye on this team and keep a list of names when the draft finally happens. I'm expecting players like Kit Krunk, Kazeno Kagenori, Gosta Holmberg, Tyson Blaze, Dragos Vraciu to wind up as really high end prospects that will be snatched up like hot cakes!
