Game 14 Preview: Stockholm IK vs. Istanbul FK
The final game of the season is finally here and although players are excited for next year they still have one last chance to show the scouts what potential there is from draft 27. Stockholm didn't get the result they wanted last game with a close loss against the #1 in the league but they did look good on many aspects and hope to build on those for this weeks game. Stockholm is currently 4th in the league and with a large differential in goals they will likely remain at that spot after this match. Istanbul is currently 8th in the division and could possibly finish in 7th if they can secure a win tonight over Stockholm.
Stockholm players to watch: (some of the following does not include game 12/13 stats)
-Goalie Swiss Cheese had his work cut out for him last game and managed to keep his team within 1 goal of getting a tie against a very strong opponent.
-Captain Metalbeard was unable to get himself into the key areas last game with the PS Jakarta team marking him close. Look for Metalbeard to be running up the pitch and creating space for him and his teammates tonight.
-Butters Stotch made some key passes again last game but wasn't happy with his performance overall. Look for him to be a more impact player tonight when he has the ball at his feet.

4 Midfield is Adamones and Wouters on the wings with Dono and Stotch in the middle.

Istanbul legend player Knight would receive a yellow card.

Minute 18:
With some good ball control in midfield the Stockholm players would be looking for an opportunity. Butters Stotch would take the ball and turn to find Bubblegum streaking down the middle toward goal. With a nice through ball Bubblegum quickly received the pass and beat the goalkeeper for another goal added to their incredible season. Great finish by Bubblegum as usual.

Minute 22:
Butters Stotch was once again moving the ball through midfield and this time finding Metalbeard on the right flank. Metalbeard would make just a couple of touches before sending a low pass into the middle to find Wouters who had got himself into a great position to score and did so. A great setup play that we are used to seeing from this Stockholm club.

Minute 31:
The Istanbul players would use some long passing to get the ball into a dangerous area before sending a nice through ball in for their striker. Legend player Lopta would receive the ball and make a great shot to beat the Stockholm GK.

Minute 39:
With some new found momentum from their first goal the Istanbul players would use some quality short passes to work the ball up to their forwards. With some good passes off the rank flank they would use a fast chip pass into the center of the box and strike again to beat Stockholm and tie the game up. Legend player Papadopolous was the goal scorer.

Minute 41:
Stockholm was looking quick to counter and Butters Stotch once again made a pass into the middle that would eventually find Bubblegum off some favorable bounce. Unfortunately the goal would be called back for offside.

Minute 45+1:
With a very quick counterattack the Istanbul players had Stockholm scrambling to get back. Legend player Lopta would find himself loose and in a great position to score. Once again a quality strike would beat Stockholm for 3 straight goals after they had a 2-0 lead early into the match.

Minute 47:
Stockholm player Janson setup for a corner kick off the right side and sent it perfectly to player Bubblegum who was waiting in the middle for a header. A great finish for their 2nd goal of the match for Bubblegum. Great to see Stockholm quickly get the game tied after the halftime break.

Minute 52:
The Stockholm team was controlling the ball well and using short passes to work it up to the front. With some one touch passes they were able to find Dono at the top of the box who would beat the Istanbul GK on the far side to get Stockholm back in the lead.

Minute 56:
Player Dono would be setting up for a cross from the left side but chose to use a mid range pass lobbed to Butters Stotch. Using his weaker left boot Stotch would blast a shot past the GK on the short side for only his 2nd goal of the year.

Minute 64:
Butters Stotch was feeling in the zone tonight when the ball was passing well between him and his teammates once again. Being about 10 yards outside the box on the left side Butters would strike the ball first touch and send a shot perfectly to the top right corner. An unexpected 2 goal game and a great couple of finishes for Stotch in this match.

Minute 71:
Stockholm legend player would move the ball down the left side and send a high lobbed pass to the far side of the box. Wouters would be in position and with an offbalance header was able to put the ball just over the Istanbul GK head and into the net for his 2nd goal of the match.

Minute 87:
With some open space just outside the box Butters Stotch would send a hard low pass to the far left side where legend teammate Jarvinen would take the ball and send a hard shot past the Istanbul GK for another Stockholm goal and a 2nd assist for the evening for Butters Stotch.
Score 8-3 Stockholm
Final Game Notes:
This was one wild game to finish off the season for the Stockholm squad. The team looked good and showed their chemistry had improved throughout the 14 game season. Butters Stotch would have his best game of the year with 2goals, 2assits and a 10.0 rating. Certainly did not expect that kind of performance from a center midfielder. Bubblegum would grab 2 more goals as well and will likely finish 2nd in the league for goals. Wouters also had another 2 goal performance and showed the scouts he is ready for draft day. 19 shots on target for Stockholm and 8 goals is likely the best finishing game to the season the manager could have asked from his club. What a great game and great year for all the players throughout the academy league.
