GRADED: Expansion Team 1 Branding Announcement - siddhus - 2026-08-07 It has been a long process over the past weeks trying to finalize the logos, locations, and everything else to do with branding ever since being announced as manager. Big thanks to @Thunder39 for creating the two brandings and turning my ideas into something a lot better than I could’ve possibly imagined. Also big thanks to everyone in the Board of Directors for assisting the process and approving the final logos across all the many different voting processes that had to happen. Super excited for the incoming expansion and prospect draft and to have these two teams start in their respective division 2s in Season 27!  (Image sizing wasn't working well for me, so it might be a little messed up...) Starting off with the majors team: ASC Yumboes de Dakar Team Name: Association Sportive et Culturelle Yumboes de Dakar Shortened Name: ASC Yumboes Location: Dakar, Senegal Colors: 053E26 (Deep Forest Green), FFEC00 (Bright Yellow), FF0000 (Pure Red) The other expansion team brought up a good point that there hadn't been any teams in the majors that were based in Africa and while Morocco was a good choice of a place that definitely needed a team, I felt that Senegal was another top African footballing nation that wasn't getting enough support. I was drawn in by the vibrant colors of the Senegalese flag and knew that together it could lead to a really nice logo and branding (which you can see reflected in the actual logo). THe team is located in the city of Dakar which serves as the western-most point of Africa and also serves as the capital of Senegal. Senegal have had a ton of players that have played in the top leagues of European football and have won the AFCON is 2021 along with being runner ups in the previous edition, and I hope that very soon this club will be playing in the top league that the SSL offers as well. Now what is a yumboe? Yumboes come straight from Wolof mythology, which is the most prominent language spoken in Senegal. Yumboes, also known as bakhna rakhna or "good people", are spirits or fairy-like people that are thought to come out at night to celebrate often with big feasts. While they do enjoy big feasts, they also serve in a sort of guardian role of their natural environment and "custodians of the land". In the crest itself we have a yumboe in the center with it being surrounded by a moon to symbolize when it comes out in the night. Like mentioned before, the logo made sure to use all three logos on the Senegalese flag which each add a color to a different part of the logo. These kits might be my favorite part across both brandings, think they both look extremely clean and colorful as well. All in all though, I'm definitely looking forward to a potential African expansion team rivalry developing over the next seasons! Kits: Now for the minors team: CD Alfama Team Name: Clube Desportivo Alfama Shortened Name: CD Alfama Location: Lisbon, Portugal Colors: 08203D (Deep Navy), 47A6FF (Bright Sky Blue), BF8E44 (Warm Gold) Welcome to the most storied neighborhood in the largest city in Portugal! While they had an unfortunate loss to the eventual world champions in the recent world cup, Portugal has been a top footballing nation making it to the round of 16 in five of the six last world cups. They have also served as a big cultural hub with a lot of history to draw from when creating the team. While I ended up going with different themes for the actual logos, when I picked both nations, I wanted there to be some sort of theme that tied them both together and I ended up with navigation which made Portugal a logical choice to choose. There are a few teams already in western Europe but Portugal is one of the big nations that still hasn't been taken by any major, minor, or academy team to my knowledge so it made sense to finally get a team over there. Going into the crest, as seen in the majors crest, the main theme that I ended up going for is including ties to the culture's mythology in the logo. This crest has the face of a giant in the center of the logo and that is based on the legend of the Adamastor, a mythological giant created in the poem Os Lusíadas. The giant represented the dangers of the sea and nature which Portuguese explorers had to face during the Age of Exploration. To build on the Portuguese naval history, there is a ship at the bottom of the crest that is cutting through the waves. And there is some subtle patterning behind the logo as well. That patterning is based from azulejo patterning which are hand-painted ceramic tiles which have a massic historical influence as they were used to help rebuild Lisbon and especially Alfama after the massive 1755 earthquake.
