Thunder Down Under-ish - Quitolis - 2026-08-23 It has been, without a doubt, the most exciting week of Thomas Thunder's life. Eight days ago he was selected 4th by Reykjavik United to be a part of their professional organization. From there, things moved fast. He was contacted by Rashford, the organizational manager and given the full rundown of how the next few days would go. They wanted Thomas to fly to Iceland first for a few days to see the facilities and meet everyone involved. This was a nice trip up the Atlantic and it went great. Russ and FuriousChicken were also there to help with the welcoming party. There Thomas Thunder officially signed his rookie contract and did his first press conference as a member of the org. The next flight was a doozy, but they pulled out all the stops. REYK U picked up the tab for a first class, suite all the way to Auckland. Thomas already knew that this luxury was not to be taken as an indicator. His time with the org may have some nice perks and some luxury mixed in, but it is always going to be work first. The grind, effort, and discipline are the pillars of success around here. After getting to Auckland, it was just as impressive and busy of a team facility. It was bustling with staff and players all getting the work in before the next season. At this point the first friendly matches are coming up quick, so the work starts now, and probably never stops! |
