Arrival in Antananarivo - DarkViper2 - 2026-08-31

After the draft, Scott Newman spent a week at his home and started packing up for a move across the globe. He didn't have to worry about purchasing a plane ticket as the organization was going to fly him 1st class with all expenses paid for. The first stop was the team HQ located in Dublin. There he was given a tour of the facilitates and everything was state of the art; something he would have expected from a top tier SSL organization. After the tour Scott was pulled into a meeting with Nol, Bayley, and Demon. In this meeting the groundwork was laid out, "while we did draft you with the 11th pick, you're still incredibly raw" Bailey said. Nol added in "if we have you play with the big dogs right now, you will get eaten alive and we don;t want to have a top prospects confidence destroyed early on." "Here's the plan" Demon started speaking, "we're going to send you to our minor league team based in Tana for a couple of seasons. We believe this is the best option while you get your legs under you." Bayley spoke once more " we believe that your talent will shine better there, just make sure you keep up the hard work. Oh and here's a contract for you to sign." He slid a contract that was ally typed up to Scott and it was bog standard, 2 years and 2M each year. Newman didn't even hesitate to sign it. Scott finally spoke up "I understand that I need to spend some time in the minors and I won't let you regret taking me that high up in the draft." After that the team put him on a charter flight directly to Tara. Once in Madagascar's capital a taxi paid for by the team brought him to Kianja Vola. There Newman met his teammates and was introduced to the manager of Rova. "Gold to have you here" the manager said. "Happy to be here" Scott replied. "Good, good. Here's where your locker is and I'm sure you'll get along great with everyone." Scott thought to himself "the locker room looks just like the one at Celtic, just a different color scheme."

"Just to let you know we have 2 friendlies scheduled, one on the 26th and one on the 28th, and you'll be in the starting XI for both games." The manager said "this will give us an idea on what you need to work on the most as the season progresses." Scott replied that he was ready to get to work and was excited to work. He also informed the manager that he would like to wear #18 for this season

Scott Newman made his first appearance with Rova in a match against Rapid Magyar and it was clear from the start that Scoot need to work on his pace, pace acceleration, and work rate and he was a bit slow on the defensive side early on. While he didn't do that much in the first half, Newman had his moment early in the 2nd half as he took hist first shot at the 54' mark and he missed the net to the left as the goalkeeper parried the ball to the left. Newman wasn't that disappointed as his shot was on target it's just the keeper made the better play. Unfortunately Newan's be but was cut short as he was subbed off in the 77th minute because of an injury. Thankfully there are wizards and Newman's injury was cured very fast but he couldn't go back in the game so he had to cheer Rova on from the bench. Rova would beat Rapid Magyar 4-2 in the first friendly

Newman made his 2nd appearance against Kaapstad, hopefully this time he can play the full 90 minutes. While Rova fell behind early thanks to a goal from Dante Von Wolfe from outside the box. Rova's defense held up and eventually they were able to equalize that game with a goal from Joe Martin. This was also a special moment for Scott Newman as he was given credit with an assist, his first with the team. Although it won't count because it happened in a friendly, it's showing that he is starting to develop some chemistry with his new teammates. While Rova took a 2-1 lead in the 2nd half, 2 quick goals from Kaapstad allowed them to take a 3-2 lead and they didn't look back. Still I liked what I saw in these 2 matches and I'm sure Scott Newman has a bright future ahead of him

Note: I now have Scott's pace a 18 and work rate at 11. Just need to save up more TPE to get his acceleration to 18. I also spent 7.5M to get his weak foot to 15. If things go well, I should be able to max that out this season so I can start focusing on saving up money for seasonal training
