Minors D1 MD2: North Shore United vs. CS Rova Mpanjaka - DarkViper2 - 2026-09-09 Even though I know who wins I want to cover this game because it was my player's first appearance for Rova outside of the SSL Cup. I'm really excited to see what he can do especially considering I'm continuing to make him better with each update to his ratings. Still trying to earn enough cash to be able to max out the weak foot attribute and get some cash leftover from next season's seasonal equipment. Still have time to do the latter as I'm more focused on the former now Formations North Shore United 4-1-1-2-2 Very unique setup from NSU here having a DCM playing towards the back 4 and 1 CM playing a bit further up. A bit of flexibility with this fromation as it could shift to a 4-2-2-2 or a 4-1-3-2 CS Rova Mpanjaka 4-2-3-1 Same formation the major team used in their SSL Cup match. I love the flexibility of this formation as the 2 DMs cam operate in the center of the pitch while being able to drop back into defense Note that Jay Cue Jr. is no longer on the team as he was called up to Celtic this season 1st Half 3': NSU has gone on an early attack and missed a shot because Rova has a goal kick to restart play. Ahmad Ampharos plays it short to Thomas Schwarte. He passes it to Aren fjord who passes the ball forward to Joe Martin. He does a lob pass to Puma Superhoops and Puma does a short pass to Martin. He passes it over to Matt Oopsie Wrongsport Turk. Turk passes the ball up to Otto Rocket and dribbles the ball up the tright side. He attempts to get an early cross in to either Hans Grudnar or Scott Newman. I'm leaning towards Grudnar as he was calling for it. Paulie Wag through does a nice job to get in position to intercept the pass. The ball finds its way to Marco Tentacles. He passes the ball to Steven Urkel nd he does a 1 touch pass to Swiss Cheese. They try a long pass to Mikko Rashford IV but Justin Fern is right there. In the end Superhoops win poession of the ball for Rova. He passes the ball up to Turk and he pushes it up to Grudnar. Grudnar passes it to Jack Pow and he finds Schwarte on the far left side. He starts to dribble the ball up the left side and cuts it in to take a shot. Cheese does well to make themselves as wide as possible to make the save and force a corner kick. Schwarte takes it from the rights side and plays it to the near post. Fern arrive at the ball unmarked and attempts a shot. His header goes wide of the goal and NSU is awarded a goal kick 9': NSU has gone on another attack and has a corner. From the right side, Rashford IV aims for the far post. Fern manages to get to the ball first and clear it out of the 18 yd box. Butters Stotch tracks the ball down and dribbles back towards the 18 yd box. He manages draw a foul from Superhoops and NSU has direct free kick from just outside the box. Rashford IV takes a shot at goal and Turk deflects into the crowd for a corner kick. Santos Neymarinho takes the corner from the left side. He aims for the far post and once again Fern is there for the interception. He clears the ball out of the box and Stotch tracks it down. He passes the ball to Thomas Thunder and he attempts a shot from distance. Thunder's shot is not even close as it goes into the stands for a Rova goal kick 11': Rova has a throw in to restart play and Schwarte is taking it from the left sideline. He throws it to Scott Newman and he takes a couple of touches before passing it up to Schwarte. His first touch is a bad one as Thunders tackles the ball away and Marin Krpan clears the ball. Fern manages to keep it on the NSU side of the pitch and he passes it to Superhoops. Superhoops tries to push it forward, but Urkel is there for the interception. He clears it and Fern is once again in postsion to keep the ball in the opponents half. He passes the ball to Martin and he passes it back. Fern dribbles the ball backwards looking to reset and he once again passes it to Martin. Martin finds fjord to his left and he passes it to Schwarte. Karry Hane tackles the ball away from fjord and begins a counter attack against Rova. His touch is way too heavy and Schwarte tackles the ball away. He finds Turk and he tries to find Newman, but Krpan intercepts the pass. He tries to head the ball to Urkel but Pow gets to it first. He dribbles the ball then push it forward to Otto Rocket. He aims a low cross to the near post and Wag intercepts it and clears it. Superhoops wins the battle against Neymarinho and heads the ball to Turk. He passes the the ball to Schwarte and he takes a crack at it from distance and Pow is in the way of the shot and Hane uses his head to clear the ball out of danger 13': Rocket was caught offsides and Cheese is set to restart play. They play it short to Krpan and he passes the ball to Alex Peña. Alex starts to push the ball up the right side and Pow cuts him off and tackles the ball away. He pass the ball to Turk and he starts to push it up the pitch. He finds Superhoops wide open on the right side and passes him the ball. He dribbles the ball up the bit and gets close to kicking it out of play, but he manages to collect it. He crosses the ball back towards Schwarte and he gets his head to the ball. Schwarte attempts a shot on goal but his header sail over the crossbar for a goal kick. Rova has had some chances, but they couldn't capitalize on them 16': Turk is booked for a dangerous play and NSU has direct free kick. Rashford IV takes a crack at the goal and puts a good curve on the ball. Ampharos makes an amazing read a parries the ball out of play for a corner. Rashford IV takes it from the right side and aims for the far post. Turk gets to the ball first and heads it out for a NSU throw. A good opportunity for North Shore to get on the board but better defense by Rova keeps the score 0-0 20': NSU committed a foul and now Rova has a direct free kick. Schwarte finds Grudnar on the back post and takes a shot with his head. He places it perfectly as the ball gets past the reach of Cheese and it looks like Rova takes an early 1-0 lead. A VAR check removed the goal as it was determined that Grundar was offsides. Those mistakes just can't happen this early in the game (Grundar in the offices position, disallowing the goal) 24': Superhoops takes the corner from the left side and aims for the near post. Wag initially wins and gets his head to the ball, but Turk is able to track it down. Turk passes the ball to Martin and he attempts to pass it to Superhoops, but Tentacles is there for the interception. Even if that pass was completed, Superhoops was in an offside position so it would've been a dead play had he received that pass. Tentacles clears the ball and Grudnar collects it. He pushes the ball forward to Schwarte and he starts to dribble the ball up the left side. Hane cuts him off and Schwarte is forced to pass the ball to Pow. He passes the ball to Turk and Turk finds Newman on the edge of the 6 yd box. He dribbles the ball backwards and finds Martin. Martin lets one rip from distance and his shot sails over the crossbar for a goal kick 28': North Shore has another direct free kick. Rashford IV passes the ball to Stotch on his right instead of taking a shot on goal. Stotch takes a 1 touch shot and puts in the back of the net to give NSU a 1-0 lead. The shot was just too fast and powerful for Ampharos to make the save (Stotch taking the 1 touch shot) 32': Rova has a thrown from the left sideline and have gone on an attack to try and tie the game. Schwarte throws the ball to Pow and he had to fight off Peña. Pow taps the ball to Newman who does a 1 touch pass back to Schwarte. He dribbles the ball and Urkel tries to win the ball with a slide tackle. While he did knock the ball away from Schwarte, Turk was there to pick it up. He does a lob pass to Superhoops and he dribbles the ball into the 18 yd box. Superhoops takes the shot and beats Cheese but the shot finds the left post and Pow tracks down the rebound. He passes the ball to Turk and he tries a 1 touch shot. Turk's shot misses high and to the right and goes out of play for a goal kick. Another missed opportunity from Rova 45+1': Rova has a direct free kick after Wag got booked and my player, Scott Newman, is set to take it. This can go very badly as his free kick rating is at 5. Surprisingly Newman had a great delivery and aim for the upper left corner. His shot just missed high and the ball goes out for a goal kick. I know he wants that one back (Newman's almost goal) North Shore has a 1-0 lead at the half and Rova has been hanging in there. They had chances in the 1st half, but couldn't capitalize on them 2nd Half 53': Pow has the ball and passes it back to fjord. He passes it to Turk and he passes right back to Pow. Pow passes it Shwarte and he pushes it forward to Newman. He passes it forward to Pow and he dribbles the ball up the left side. Eventually he starts to dribble parallel to the back line and cuts it back to Newman. He uses his weak foot and buries the shot into the bottom right corner for the equalizer early. This is also a special moment for Newman as it is his first career goal in the SSL (Newman celebrating the goal with his teammates) 56': NSU has the ball in a very dangerous position and Tentacles is set to restart play with a thrown in. He throws it to Santos and he does a 1 touch pass back to Tentacles. He passes the ball to Thunder who does a 1 touch pass to Santos. He starts to dribble the ball backwards and Rocket does well to takcle the ball away. Thunder attempts a 1 touch shot with the loose ball and his shot goes into the crowd for a goal kick The sim stops briefly close to the 61' mark as Jack Pow has to be subbed out because of an injury. It's cool to see a sim where injuries happen and of course they heal very quickly. Pow is being substituted for the supersub 61': Peña throws it into Stotch and these two play a 2 man game passing the ball back and forth. Stotch passes the ball to Rashford IV and he buries the ball in the back of the net to give North Shore a 2-1 lead. A VAR check allows the goal to stand (Rashford IV in an onside position, allowing the goal to stand 63': Nroth Shore has a throw in from the right sideline near midfield. Tentacles throws it to Rashford IV and he passes it to Wag. They pass it Urkel and he does long pass up to Stotch. He dribbles it up the right side and starts to cut it in to the middle. He passes it to Urkel and he centers the ball. He takes a shot from distance and Ampharos makes the save 64': NSU has another throw in and Peña throws it to Hane. He passes it back and Peña passes it back to Krpan. He passes it to Cheese and they do a 1 touch pass up to Wag. They pass it to Hane and he starts dribbling it backwards and he passes it back to Wag. They pass the ball to Tentacles and he feeds it to Santos. He tries to feed it to Rashford IV, but Fern is there for the interception. He clears it and Urkel collects the ball. He passes it to Santos and he passes it back to Wag. They pass to Karpan and he passes it to Peña. Peña dribbles it up the rights side and aims a low cross to the near post to Hane. He takes a shot and Ampharos makes another save 71': North Shore has a corner from the right side. Rashford IV plays it to Thunder and he passes it to Stotch who is on his left. This is a similar set piece North Shore used to score their first goal, but this time Ampharos reads it well and parries the ball out of play for a corner. This time Rashford IV aims for the far post and Amparos catches the ball out of the air. He drop kicks the ball to Rocket and he heads it to Superhoops. He dribbles the ball up the right side and gets a cross to the far post. Grudnar gets to it first and takes a shot at goal. He heads the ball over the crossbar for a goal kick 77': Rova is set to restart play with a corner. from the left side, Superhoops aims for the near post and Tentacles heads the ball into the air and Wag clears it. Rocket collects it and passes the ball to Martin who does a 1 toch pass back to fjord. He passes the ball to Fern and he does  1 touch pass to Superhoops. He passes the ball to Grudnar and he attempts a shot from the edge of the 18 yd box. Grudnar's shot sails over the cross bar and into the crowd for a goal kick. 80': Another corner kick from Rova. From the right side, Schwarte aims for the near post and Wag heads the ball in the air. Supersub gets under and attempts a hot on goal. Cheese is there and makes the save with minimal effort. They drop the ball and do a short pass to Wag. Wag passes it to Tentacles and Rocket attempts to tackle the ball away. Anticipating this this, Wag passes the ball Santos. He dribbles the ball towards the center circle and pass the ball off to Hane. Peña runs up the right side unmarked and Hane passes him the ball. He dribbles the ball up the pitch and tries to get a cross in, but Fern gets his foot on it for a deflection. Thunder picks up the loose ball and attampts a shot and Martin gets in the way for a block. Rocket heads the ball to Newman and he kicks it out for a North Shore throw 82': NSU has another throw in. Tentacles throws it to Santos and he does a 1 touch pass to give it back. Tentacles passes the ball to Thunder and he does a 1 touch pass back to Tentacles and he do a 1 touch pass to Santos. Santos takes a shot at goal, but Hane is in the way for an accidental block. Santos tries to get a heading pass, but Shwarte is there and clears it out for a corner. Santos takes the corner from the left and aims for the far post. Rashford IV is there and takes a shot at goal. His header goes off the post and Superhoops clears it. Tentacles collects the ball and dribbles up the pitch. He attempts a shot from distance and Ampharos makes the save 85': Rova has a throw in to restart a play. From the right side, Superhoops attempts to throw it to Newamn and Santos intercepts it. He passes the ball to Thunder does a long pass to Rashford IV before the ball goes out of play. He pushes it forward to Santos who cuts into the 18 yd box. He plays it back to Urkel and he buries his 1 touch shot into the top right corner to give NSU a 3-1 lead late in the match. A quick VAR check confirms it's a good goal (Steven Urkel about to score the 3rd goal for North Shore) 87': Rova has a indirect free kick to restart play. Ampharos plays it short to Martin and he passes it to Schwarte. He pushes it forward to Supersub who tries to get it to Newman. Krpan tackles it away and Peña tracks the loose ball. He plays it back to Krpan and he pushes it up to Thunder. He plays it Peña and he passes it to Stotch. Newman does a good job marking Stotch tightly and tackles the ball away. He passes the ball to Turk who finds Martin. he tries to get a 1 touch pass to Schwarte, but Urkel is there for an interception. He plays it to Thunder who plays it back to Krpan and he plays it all the way back to Cheese. They pass it to Tentacles and he plays it to Urkel who plays it back to Wag. They pass it to Tentacles who pushes it forward to Santos. He passes it Thunder who dribbles the ball up the left side and cuts it into the 18 yd box. He tries to get a cross in. but Amparos pushes it away and Schwarte clears it 88': fjord plays the ball to Schwarte and bases it right back. He passes it back to Schwarte and he passes it to Turk who passes it to Supersub and they pass it to Schwarte. He tries to feed the ball to Newamn, but Krapn intercepts it and Urkel pick it up and passes it to Thunder. He kicks the ball towards midfield and Fern collects it. He plays it to Turk who passes it to Schwarte. He pushes the ball forward and tries to get a cross in that misses every Rova player in the 18 yd box. Rocket tracks the ball down and passes the ball to Truk. He lines up for a 1 touch shot that deflects off Wag and then the crossbar for Rova's 2nd goal in the match. Another quick VAR check confirms it's a good goal (Turk lining up for the shot) 89': Hane kicks off to restart play. He kicks it back to Urkel who passes it to Thunder. He dribbles the ball a bit then passes it Peña who dribbles it up the right side. He aims a low cross to the near post and Hane takes a shot and Amparos parries it out of play for a corner. At the same time the 4th official signals there will be 5 minutes of added time. Rashford IV takes the corner from the right side and aim for the far post. Krapn agents to it and gets a header on target and AMparos makes the save 90+5': Rova has a corner to restart play and this is their last chance to equalize. From the left side, Superhoops plays it to the near post and Rashford IV intercepts it. Fern passes the ball back to Superhoops who tries a 1 touch cross to Newman on the far post. Krpan intercepts it and clears it. Martin tracks it down but the official blows their whistle 3 times to end the match IRL the official would've likely kept the match going as Rova still had possession and a great opportunity for a goal  3 vs.  2 Rova had chances in this one but just couldn't capitalize on them. Sucks to start the season off with 0 points, but there will be opportunities to gain them as the season goes on
