The Season so Far - Pelochyta - 2026-09-10
Just a quick recap of how things are looking now that we're a couple games in, both for the team and on a personal level.
Team (North Shore United):
North Shore has only played two games in the minors so far but it's never too early to draw conclusions. They're sitting pretty at 1 - 0 - 1, with their win coming against Rova Mpanjaka. They won by a score of 3-2, holding off the opponents after taking an early lead. The team was winning 3-1 until a last minute own goal by none other than Paulie Wag. The other game was an 8 - 0 loss after a goalie injury so that is obviously one we don't count.
Outlook: Good so far! The loss by eight goals is pretty tough and doesn't inspire confidence, but there was a lot going on there. For a team this low on TPE to squeak out a win is great - no wins are taken for granted. You'd hope to maybe have the goal diff be a little better, but beggars cannot be choosers (or so I've been told).
Their only other game was the qualifying round for The Cup, in which North Shore faced off against the expansion squad from Casablanca. That game was another victory for the good guys (North Shore) by a score of 3-2. That win means they'll get to advance to the next round, which isn't played until the sixteenth.
Player (Paulie Wag):
We're going to pretend the own goal didn't happen here as I'm pretty sure we can all agree that was the goal keeper's fault and not mine for missing that pass. I don't know a lot about soccer or soccer stats so I'm just guessing based on the match data what's good. Wag is currently running an average rating of 6.33 so far. I think that's half respectable since there's not going to be many goals or assists from the central defender position. He's averaged a solid 86.6% of passes completed which I think is pretty good? That's a solid B rating!
He has ONE shot (not to brag) and a sub 50% header rate as well - not sure what an average ranking is for headers, but I suspect winning less than half is not good. There's a small number of other stats (interceptions, blocks, tackles) but nothing to write home about.
Outlook: Hopefully things can get better but considering Wag's TPE level (and the TPE level of his team), he's not doing so bad too far. I'm proud of him!
