End of Season NSU Thoughts - SoySavant - 2026-10-11

It became clear pretty early on that this was going to be a rough season, in all likelihood. A quick TPE review showed that NSU would be well below average in TPE if they were a Division 2 team, let alone Division 1. So, for the most part, this season hasn't been terribly surprising... but it's been a little surprising, especially as the season's really started to wind down. After spending much of the season with just 1 win, they've managed to secure another win and 2 ties over the last 10 days (which, given the state of things, even a tie is a nice result). Will it be enough to change NSU's fate? Well, uhh... no comment, but they've at least found a way to make the fight to avoid the bottom of the standings kind of interesting as the season rapidly approaches its end. I believe NSU has 1 more game ahead of it and is 2 points behind the 2nd-worst Div 1 team, but unfortunately that's their ceiling at this point. Even then, having a chance to not get automatically relegated with only 1 match left is honestly encouraging for a very young rebuilding squad that was badly outclassed from the start. It's exciting to have something to play for all the way up to the last match in a season where, despite how things may look, it easily could have been even worse.
