Post Relegation Playoffs Interview Bergmann - Bergmau - 2026-10-19 Interviewer: Congratulations on securing a spot in the top flight of the Minors next season. For a long time it did not look like you would be able to come away with the win tonight. A last minute equalizer to send the game into extra time and a last minute game winner in extra time saved your season. How does it feel? Bergmann: Insane. Unbelivable. I have no words to describe what happened tonight. I am so happy for the fans and my teammates. We deserved to stay up looking at the way we played the first half of the season. I am really happy we saved the season tonight. Interviewer: You mentioned before that this game was going to be a close and hard fought battle. You conceded early, twice, from corners. Haye missed a penalty in the first half. That must have tanked the morale quite a bit. Bergmann: It's always though to fight back from behind. Vincent missing the equalizing penalty took a toll on us for sure. Luckily Reece managed to get us within one before halftime. That was a boost. It was a back and forth up until the last minute, we never gave up and Vincent redeemed himself with that late equalizer. Great strike from him. Interviewer: You bagged an assist on that late equalizer with a sharp cross from the right. Bergmann: Both Tadgh and me worked our asses off up and down the line. Really happy I could contribute on that goal. I am incredibly proud of Tadgh to score the late winner in his rookie season. If there was ever a time for him to score, he probably picked the best time possible. Once the game went to extra time, we knew we were in their heads. Late in extra time I had a feeling that some of them were already concerned with their penalties and we were just a bit more ready in the moment that presented itself to us. Interviewer: What a game. Certainly one to remember. We are happy to see you next season in Division 1 of the Minors. Thank you very much for the interview and I wish you a good off season. See you in training camp. Bergmann: Thank you. |
