A Check-In With Grimes - Aleris - 2026-11-02
A check-in with Nico Grimes is due, the young Center Back for Xelajú Cósmico FC. Grimes recently signed a new 3 year contract for 4 million a year that will see him with the club through season 30. He was part of 8 re-signings with the organization as they plan to keep the core together and build off of a strong 3rd place finish in Division 2 Major last season. With Grimes at the back, Xelajú proved they we're best of the rest who did not earn promotion finishing with 19 points and the clubs first positive goal differential season since they won promotion in Season 24. Grimes set a record for his career in Average Matchday Rating at 6.83. Making very view mistakes in the back and helping the Cósmico stay in the hunt. Grimes and the team look to build on last season and push for promotion into Division 1 next season. It was only Grimes' 2nd Major season and only his 5th overall so the organization has a lot to look forward to with his stability in the back. Grimes as also been rumored to be on the selection for East Africa again for the WSFC. East Africa looking to get our of the group stage again and advance further in the knockouts.
