Nomination for Canadice[this was submitted with the Nomination to the HFC]
Canadice has been affiliated with SSL since before the start of Season 01. While most SSL users are only directly aware of Canadice’s impact on the league as League Commissioner since AC Week 38, he has held a multitude of league jobs, even simultaneously. Currently, Canadice holds the positions of Sim Team Department Head, Post Producer, File and Database Department Head, Development Department Head, and Commissioner. The first four of these positions Canadice has held since AC Week 1, and the position of Commissioner since AC Week 38. As of this nomination, Canadice remains 1 of only 9 league jobs that have been started and held continuously since before AC Week 100, and is 1 of only 2 users to remain in their job* since AC Week 1.

*The second user has held only one job continuously since Week 1.

Even if Canadice had only been Commissioner or held only one of the Department Head Jobs, this HFC would have still considered him as a potential option to be the first Builder Nominee in league history, but to do all five jobs together for 254 weeks (4 years and 10.4 months) leaves no other User in the league as equivalently qualified. It is widely believed that without Canadice, the SSL would be nowhere near as successful as it has been. His leadership and willingness to step up when others cannot have helped build the league from the beginning.

Considering only the length of time Canadice has been SSL Commissioner is an achievement of stability and consistency rarely enjoyed in the sim league community, especially during the first several years of a league’s existence. Taking over as Commissioner in the middle of S5, Canadice has been Commissioner for 20+ seasons. Compared with SSL's most prominent sister leagues, the length of time Canadice has served as SSL’s Commissioner is nearly unmatched. During ISFL’s first 30 seasons, 4 different users served as commissioner, with the longest tenure being 10 seasons. The longest commissioner tenure in ISFL’s first 50 seasons is only 15 seasons. PBE had at least 4 different Commissioners in its first 30 seasons, with the longest-tenured commissioner inducted into the PBE User HoF after only 10 seasons as league commissioner. And the SSL’s closest sister league, the SHL, had to restructure its entire league management organization several times in the first 30 seasons after the SHL web forum's creation.

Beyond managing operations as Commissioner, Canadice’s tireless behind-the-scenes commitment has continually elevated the quality of the SSL experience for every member. From drafting essential documentation to troubleshooting database anomalies at all hours, his contributions form the bedrock upon which the league operates daily. The combination of technical expertise, organizational foresight, and steady leadership ensures that complex league transitions, such as switching FM versions and league realignments, happen smoothly and efficiently.

As Commissioner, Sim Team Department Head, File and Database Department Head, Development Department Head Canadice oversaw 8 league expansions; 3 league format changes with introducing relegation, creating organizations and removing relegation, and creating divisions and adding relegation; creation and implementation of the Academy; and adjustments to starting TPE and Player Regression tiers; migrating from FM22 to FM24; a forum migration; the first ever WSFC Tournament; and much much more.

Ultimately, inducting Canadice as a Builder recognizes not only an extraordinary track record of longevity and hard work, but also a foundational impact that will shape the SSL for years to come. His unwavering commitment to the community sets a remarkable standard for current and future league contributors.
