SSL Season 28 Minors Friendlies 1 & 2 from my POV - Jakesdy - 2026-11-07
Hello everyone! The week of preseason friendly matches in the SSL is coming to a close, and Seoul Mythic, along with yours truly, is getting in on the action. With this piece, I’m kicking off a new series of articles covering Seoul’s matches in the upcoming 28th season of the SSL.
Let’s dive into the first game!
Friendly 1 vs Rapid Magyar SC
So, this is our first friendly match, and our opponent is a truly formidable one. In terms of roster strength and overall caliber, Rapid could even give some Major League teams a good battle; therefore, the final 0–4 scoreline not in our favor was quite expected for me. That said, considering all the circumstances, we actually played a fairly decent game overall.
Lets take a look at the statistics:
Shots - Seoul MFC: 13, Rapid Magyar SC: 17
On Target - Seoul MFC: 4, Rapid Magyar SC: 10
xG - Seoul MFC: 1.46, Rapid Magyar SC: 3.41
Possession - Seoul MFC: 54%, Rapid Magyar SC: 46%
Passes Completed - Seoul MFC: 85% (354/417), Rapid Magyar SC: 84% (304/361)
We handled the ball quite well and created some chances, but we weren't able to convert them. Not bad at all for a first friendly match. I played okay, got a 6.8 rating and covered 13.5 km during the match. On the downside, I picked up one yellow card.
Lets move to the 2nd match !
Friendly 2 vs CD Alfama
While in the previous match we were the underdogs, this time we clearly outclassed our opponents in terms of skill and level of play. The final score was 5–1. Our goals came from Dennis van Huntelrooy (a hat-trick: 2', 21', 51') and Kim Heung-Min (a brace: 31', 67'). Kim could have opened the scoring as early as the 6th minute, but unfortunately, he failed to convert a penalty.
Match statistics:
Shots - Seoul MFC: 23, CD Alfama: 12
On Target - Seoul MFC: 13, CD Alfama: 6
xG - Seoul MFC: 4.32, CD Alfama: 1.59
Possession - Seoul MFC: 51%, CD Alfama: 49%
Passes Completed - Seoul MFC: 83% (343/411), CD Alfama: 83% (324/392)
I played an excellent match, with a rating of 8 and 12.9 km covered. Overall, it was a solid performance for the whole team.
The preseason has come to an end; now it’s time for the season itself, bringing a wealth of exciting matches, great moments, and plenty of emotion. I hope our results will take an upward turn, and I intend to help the team make that happen. Wishing everyone a fantastic season and see you in the new, 28th season of the SSL!
