Wesley Stains is a center midfielder who was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. Under the hot beams of sun there, it was always a good time to play football. Corpus Christi is a pretty rough city to grow up in, as Wes and his family dealt with poverty and hunger regularly, but Wesley always managed to find some fun in his life through playing soccer in the streets with his friends.

Despite the rough upbringing, Wes kept his head down and focused on his studies to make his way out of the streets and onto a better life. After doing very well in public high school, playing soccer for the school team and getting solid grades, Wes was admitted into Texas A&M.

As a player, Wesley was never flashy and as a result he never got much attention from scouts. He played a physical, defensive, and responsible style of play but also liked to help the offense with his smart passes and strong positioning. In his freshman year at Texas A&M, Wes tried out for the soccer team but did not make the team after the coach did not like his skillset. This was disappointing of course, but Wes did not stop playing as he joined the Club team instead. Even though he wasn’t on the NCAA team, Wesley kept training and giving 100% effort to the club team in hopes of getting better enough to make the team his sophomore year.

In his sophomore year tryouts, Wesley impressed the coach with his high work rate, great team play, physical presence, and knowledge of the game. Wesley could do anything you needed to and became the team’s starting center mid, playing a classic box-to-box style, having an impact in every facet of the game. After 3 great seasons at Texas A&M, Stains now prepares himself for the S4 SSL Draft.
