- Sburbine - 2022-07-10 Gerald Gerrard knows one thing in this league and that is winning, since joining the league in season 2 he has gone on to win the S2 league championship, the S2 SSL cup, the S3 SSL cup and the S4 founders shield. He and Hollywood are no strangers to competing under pressure and showing up when they really need to, in a young league like this having that many trophies in the trophy case is not only impressive, it's downright astonishing. Some of these wins certainly were very close calls and there are even a few players in the league with even more trophies than him but with probably 90% of the league not having a single medal while Gerald Gerrard is sitting here with four, you have to be amazed. Now Gerald doesn't always show up too flashy on the scoreboard, rarely getting assists and even more rarely getting goals (pretty sure my one career goal is on penalties) but he does the nitty gritty stuff like long passing, tackles, and defending his own net and keeping the ball away from his own goaltender, all these things are incredibly important to the success of the team and as the saying goes, defense wins championships. Gerald and the rest of Hollywood aren't done yet, we may seem greedy but we still want to win and keep stuffing that trophy case until it bursts. That winning drive never really leaves someone until after they're long retired, we could have won every single SSL cup in league history and we'd still go out there every match trying to win another. Now we're a little behind in league standings unfortunately (fourth out of twelve isn't terrible but we can do better) but we're still going to strive to win every game and every medal we can just to have that glory of winning wash over us once again. |
