So, now that the draft completed, I think it is a good time to look back and see how I did in my predictions.
1. My pick: União São Paulo - - Hannah Solari
Verdict
Well, I certainly failed to start off with a bang, did I not? I thought São Paulo would go with Solari, but instead they got spiritual, as they selected Hol LeDiver. The user ia MasterSheep, so I am happy to see a familiar face in our locker room, as I know them from their days as a Chicago Kingpins great in the Pro Baseball Experience.
2. My pick: F.C. Kaapstad - - Aureliano Buendia
Verdict
Nope! I am oh for two here! I mean, it is known that this is all shots in the dark, so hey at least I tried. Instead of Buendia, they went with Lochlann O'Rourke, who will be a fine election, I am sure.
3. My pick: Montréal United - - Jack Coleman
Verdict
Wrong again! Better luck next time, huh? Montreal went with Matt Le Tissier, not Mr. Coleman as I expected.
4. My pick: C.A. Buenos Aires - - Giacomo Carbone
Verdict
Woot, another miss. Buenos Aires chose Che Guevara, rather than Giacomo Carbone like I had hoped. I mean, I did not hope anything with this pick. I was just trying for the teeps. But, you should definitely not be expecting any greatness out of the rest of my guesses. Whee!
5. My pick: Adowa Accra F.C. - - Tata Youre
Verdict
Nope. Not quite. This team chose Jack Coleman. So, I actually was not too far off here, as I had this player at 3. I will take that as a massive win.
6. My pick: Inter London F.C. - - Pino Noir
Verdict
Well, I believe it would have been a good landing spot for Pino Noir, but it just not in the cards, I suppose. Instead, London drafted Tata Youre, who will have a fine career there, I am sure.
7. My pick: Inter London F.C. - - Nathan Claflin
Verdict
I am sure Jerry Svichi will be a great player for them. I his is one I didn’t even have on my radar. So, oops!
8. My pick: F.C. Kaapstad - - Che Guevara
Verdict
Lol, this one will not be right since I am calling for a player who got drafted higher in the real world. So, failed again. Who was selected? AJ Williams - let me check my notes here - nope, not even on my list of first round draftees, so that shows you what I know. I’m batting 0-8 right now. Good lord!
9. My pick: A.S. Paris - - Ariadna Nagatoro
Verdict
I got it right that the player chosen here would have a fun name to type, but instead of the player I guessed, they went with Tim Etodeliverapizzaball. Thank god for copy/paste, actually. I don’t think I would have done okay typing all of that out, especially on mobile.
10. My pick: Inter London F.C - - Jake Justice
Verdict
Well poop on a stick, I got another one wrong! I think I will just skip the analysis here, since I am not 0-10.
11. My pick: C.A. Buenos Aires - - Tommy Tightpants
Verdict
They ended up going with a player I guessed would go 13th so I was not too too far off here. Good job, Cleetus. Yeah chalk it up to another moral victory for me.
12. My pick: União São Paulo - - Hol LeDiver
Verdict
Right team for this player, but dang I was 11 picks too late here!! Again, great choice by São Paulo at #1. And here at 12 we got Jeff Newman. Solid user and; hey, it’s usually a good idea to have someone named Jeff around.
13. My pick: Inter London F.C. - - Adam Knight
Verdict
Again, so close, right?! Lol. Pino Noir goes here and I think Montreal gets one of the steals of the draft here. Vulf is a great user, just a peach of a human being, and his player will come up huge in an important moment. Mark that shit down.
14. My Pick: Tokyo S.C. - - Scud Muffin
Verdict
I did it! 0-14! It is pretty darn wild that I missed them all, but it is just the nature of these types of exercises.
