Now that I know everything about the future of Elmis I can finally go inac....khe khem. I meant I can continue to earn TPE with no stress about someone else trying to take the starter spot from the sin master. But let's go a bit back when it wasn't that certain still.
The season is over and Cairo managed to stay in the elite without even playing a relegation game. But things only begun for both team goalkeepers, Elmis and Barflett. The first one was looking as a more promising youngin, the latter one was looking more ready and had some good games too. But it was already set from the early last season: someone had to go in this offseason. The upcoming expansion draft was provided to answer the Cairo goalie question....only problem was no expansion team was trying to land either of them. At first it was a bit of a weird choice, but looking later for Barflett's player page I realized why. Also, I never put my discord in my player page so no one could contanct me and also I wasn't even a fan of playing in D2 anyways. Perhaps the Cairo GM gave heads up to both expansion bosses about that before the draft.
So the goalie dilemma carried on to the offseason even further. The results of an expansion draft meant the GM could actually get some assets back for either of us. At least that's what I thought. I was waiting before for the conclusion of this situation and probably I would've been waiting for any Cairo related trade to this day had I not checked the team's player page to see if both goalies are still there. Well, this was really about it. One name was definitely missing from there and it wasn't Elmis The Heretic. I immediately went to the trade section to search for the trade to find none of that. I was a bit dumbfounded at first, before I realized the FA actually do exist. I went on to check that section and everything became clear - Barflett was just let go. Elmis won the goalie battle of Cairo.
