- Thunfish - 2022-09-11 Squall's eyes examined the screen. Unlike most times, he was spending his free time watching the sport he played for a living. His latest idea about improving himself involved watching tapes in his own spare time, although the term tape was actually very inaccurate (they had the funds for pen drives, after all) but for Vercetti, he was more curious about improving his own style of defending against the shenanigans of other teams. As such, he was blowing the rest of the afternoon and a chunk of the night watching tackles and positioning, anything that could give him an edge. By that point of the night, however, he could already tell it was getting rather late. And a laugh escaped his mouth as he turned off the TV set. The realization had hit him again, he had gone soft. Squall Vercetti, the kid who spent days away from the orphanage in hiding just to see something new across the state, the kid who often hung around on the metro for funsies, the kid who had stints in Juvi... now a young man trying to prepare for another work day. Even more so, he was doing that so far away from home that it was pretty funny. He then wondered what his parents would say. And that's when his mood soured. His parents, the people that put him in this world and not much else, were memories from ages ago. It was difficult for him to sympathize whenever he remembered what they did... their career, so to speak. But the truth to it was that in his mind, they might as well have not existed. It soured his night to remember of them, after all. He looked back at the TV he had just turned off and sighed. Time to go to bed and focus on football... it was for the best. |
