- diamond_ace - 2022-10-09 Between the days of Oct 12th and 17th, Hoban Washburne will not be around in Paris to play for the club. He's been a little secretive as to what exactly is going on, but rumor has it that he's meeting up with his agent diamond_ace and his wife, who will be on vacation at that time in Washington DC, USA. Whether this is something said agent actually wants to happen or not, remains to be seen. It should, in theory, be a nice little getaway between just him and his wife, plenty of time to check out all the free museums, the zoo, the arboretum, the restaurants... basically it's about the last place they'd ever want one of the agent's players barging in on. That hasn't stopped Wash though. He's booked a hotel (a different one than the agent, a better and more expensive one since professional athlete money is generally a lot more than agent money) and will be there the whole time to bother diamond_ace while he's trying to enjoy his time. However, diamond_ace is one step ahead of him: he's worked out a deal to get Wash a 5 day contract with DC United so he has things he's legally required to do, and therefore can't be in the way all the time. The contract issues are tenuous, but it appears to be legal because Wash has hired a clone to play for Paris for the duration of the trip, so it's technically two distinct beings on two different contracts. However, all of this would be avoided if he'd just stay in Paris and not barge in on a trip that's not for him. There are plenty of opportunities for the players to go on trips when the season is not, well, in season. If Wash can just be convinced to do that instead, he won't get stuck randomly on an MLS team whose season is basically over anyway, and will be able to enjoy his own trip to wherever he wants. |
