- Thunfish - 2023-01-01 Fireworks blew all over Tokyo's skies as the near year arrived. Unlike past occasions, however, Squall Vercetti was celebrating with friends for a change at Narazaki's ramen place. Rup: So after I said that, the guy just threw a huge piece of roasted beef on my plate and went "this dish for champions, enjoy". Yama: Well, yes, you went to Ribera Steakhouse and asked for their best dish. Ibuki: Our teacher, Dynamo Toshiba, told plenty of stories about going there with gaijin. Rup: Huh. So that's what was up over there? Nice stuff. Kimiko: Was that part of a new sort of training for Tokyo SC matches, Mr. Rup? Squall: No, Kimiko, that was on me. I heard about the steakhouse and figured he'd have fun over there. Do-yeong: It is a bit curious to see how you'd consider helping your defensive partner by bulking him up. Squall: Sorry, master, but you're giving me way too much credit. I just thought it was a good place to eat, that's all. Do-yeong: Well, that's still a nice gesture. You better not do it yourself, though, bulking up in needless manners will complicate your learning process, not to mention performing the right kicks. Ginger: I hope you haven't been giving your master any headaches, Squall! Squall: I could say the same about Jiro, knowing how you can be sometimes. Ginger showed him her tongue, crossing her arms. Jiro: She's great, man, don't get me included in this. Ginger: That's right! Rup: So it all worked well between you two, huh? Ginger: That's right too! We're doing great, thanks. Do-yeong: Ah, to be in love at a young age. Ichiko: Eh, master, y'ain't married or something? Do-yeong: I am, yes. Have been so for the past thirty years or so. Squall: But young love just hits different. I mean, you could look at Söderberg's thing. Kimiko: Their ability to maintain such a relationship while living so far apart is pretty impressive! Ichiko: True. Guess someone in Tokyo has to be the reasonable one, huh? Squall: Sorry, too busy being the cold defender to be reasonable. Rup: And I'm the fun one, so I can't be reasonable either! Ginger: You do realize she's insulting you both, right? Squall: Yeah, but I wanted to see if Rup here would fall for it. While Rup got exasperated, they noticed the clock reaching midnight. Yama: As we're only ten seconds away from the new year, we'd like to thank you for making sure our federation could remain active, Mr. Squall. Kimiko: Your efforts for Tokyo have been key in this journey our favourite club has been having so far! Ichiko: Yeah, you turned out to be pretty fun to hang around with, too. Ginger: Thanks for having me in Tokyo until I could do things myself. Jiro: I gotta thank you for that too, man. Rup: You're a great teammate to have, regardless of everything. Do-yeong: I'm happy to have you as a pupil. Squall: Well, I'm glad to have you all here. Next year will be great, I'm sure. As he said that, he noticed Yumi arriving with ramen. He made sure to reach out for his as the clock hit midnight. Amidst the yells of Happy New Year, he was busy eating. It'll be great, I'm sure. |
