While the focus of Simulation Soccer League clubs is surely centered around achieving their immediate goals as the seventh edition of the global competition's calendar heats up, several clubs also seem to have one eye squarely looking toward the future.

In recent days, news has trickled in of several prospects drawing the attention of SSL clubs as a new draft class prepares to enter the fold. A pair of young American players - wingback Gunnar Kennedy and defender Backline Carry - for example, have been linked to the league as of late, with scouting directors doubtlessly drawn to Carry's steady defensive play and Kennedy's ability to drive up the flank.

In South America, though, another name has been making waves. Guilherme Guerra seems likely to be one of the next "wonderkids" heading to the SSL, as the Corinthians academy product looks to turn professional in the coming months.

Featuring for Sport Club Corinthians Paulista Academy Under 20s this season, Guerra's highlight reel has been seen all over YouTube and TikTok. The 17-year-old from the state of Sao Paulo plays mostly as an attacking right winger - but does not look out of place when playing on the left side or featuring more centrally. His strong left foot, however, makes him a dynamic threat on the right wing where he tends to cut into the box and find himself in a position to challenge opposing goalkeepers. Guerrra is a talented, skillful dribbler who enjoys challenging defenders and drawing them in, preferring to beat them with footwork and deception rather than pure speed - although his pace and acceleration is impressive as well. Questions have been raised about whether Guerra has the strength needed to play the game at the SSL level, but there is little doubt whether he has the talent.

Obvious links have been made between Guerra and Uniao Sao Paulo, who will have had plenty of opportunity to see the Brazilian. More recently, though, Guerra is reportedly drawing attention from further-away clubs, including SC Tokyo and others.
