- Sermokala - 2023-03-12 Time management is something that you can easily overlook, especially in big games. Pressing systems, unlike other systems, relys on existential qualities like stamina natural fitness and determination to succeed. Reliance on these stats means that you are going to be weaker in others. Having a balance of these stats isn't as effective as specializing however. Having three tactics on hand to deal with the initial warmup, then the maw, before pulling back when you run out of gas is important for a successful manager but also important for a player. You get 20 Nat fit and stamina in the league due to how incredibly strong it would be if it wasn't maxxed for everyone. Useing these facts to then create a player who can utilize them is important. So what does this mean for the series? Well a pressing forward is an extremely mobile role that makes constant runs and can be stretched out pretty hard depending on where your tactic has its line of engagement. A pressing forward inherently will go to where the pressing activity happens. This is vastly different depending on your formation and the line of engagement setting. Say you have an AF (I'm really liking an AF with PF-d's) That PF is dropping back to the line of engagement while the AF is sticking to the center back line. They will both naturally be pressing if you have the toggle to press just naturally. How does this answer the previously asked question? Because premaking a tactic in the idea that a part of the tactic will get worse is important. When a Pressing forward gets tired it will move slower even as the other team passes less accurately and makes more mistakes. As this works however it will be easier for a PF-D to do pressing even as it gets worse at pressing if it has an AF that has been almost resting this match but is still able to take advantage of the mistakes made as a result of the pressing as well as the fatigue. On the flipside of the exchange it makes it even more important for midfielders and centerbacks to have those technical skills in order to avoid having their skills get too bad at the end of a match in order to avoid those costly pressing mistakes. |
