The players in Iceland have gone through a little bit of a strange period, and they weren’t quite sure what to make of it. The team started with a lot of promise, a lot of young hunger, and then all of a sudden it just kind of… died. Nobody understood what happened, but it just seemed like the players were not involved, nobody was really making an effort to pull this team together and really unite the passion that once was.
Come to find out, the GM of the team just vanished. Nobody heard from him, nobody knew what happened, but he just stopped showing up. He wasn’t at any team training, he wasn’t at the games, he was just gone and the players no longer had direction and just tried to play to the best of their abilities. “It’s difficult to play games when you have no tactics and don’t know what adjustments the sideline is seeing” said one Reykjavik player.
It seems as though the league has come up with a temporary solution for the time being, as they have informed the players of the team and have assigned someone to help bring the team together and hopefully reignite the passion and fun that was once missing from the locker room.
