Felix van Neuer is extremely excited to be joining the Blue Academy team for this season. He views the opportunity as one that will give him a chance to showcase his talents before the upcoming draft. A tall goalkeeper who plays with a strong command of the area and excellent reflexes, there is some intrigue surrounding the player as teams look to solidify their team between the sticks. With Van Neuer especially, he sees some serious flaws in his game that will need to be ironed out before he is able to succeed at the highest level. While he can stop the ball well, Van Neuer struggles when asked to do pretty much anything with it. He may be calm on the ball, but his ability to pass (or shoot in the unlikely event he is ever asked to come up and try to score a last minute equalizer or winner) is hindered by his limited ability to see the pitch and see where he should play the ball. Of course, he is a young keeper still, and some of these things should come in time. He has been applying himself well to get in the pool for the draft, but room to grow and desire will be important for him moving forward.
