With four games left in the academy season and the race for the championship at an all time high, it might be easy to forget that the pro draft will be starting in just a week from now. Already, in the week 14 match between Stockholm and Medellin, a few notable scouts were seen in the stadium, with the current holders of the top 3 picks having representatives catching a glimpse of the future SSL stars.
As much as scouts try to be under the radar, as to not give away their contacting of players, at least one player has confirmed that they had been reached out to by some teams in Alessandro Del Pirlo, stating that “There was contact with some scouts from some teams yes. Mostly trying to figure out my playstyle and how I would fit in their team if they draft me. No contract talks, no special requests or crazy things”
Del Pirlo further pointed out that he was surprised at how long it took for scouts to show up to games:
“I was wondering when the scouts would come to watch our games. It looks like they were waiting for the pro season to be almost over I guess.”
The SSL Academy league has 4 games left and will finish the season with the last 2 games being held as the private draft is occurring with results revealed after the end of the season.
