Approaching the end of the season This week marks the final games of the S12 season as well as the final league games using FM22. With the release of FM24 we have started the work on migrating our database to the new version and due to technical reasons we are rebuilding the database from the ground up. This will take some time so we are going to take a break within the SSL League for a couple of weeks so we can get that up and running.
We will also take this time to migrate our forum from jcink to a hosting service of our own that uses mybb as the forum base. This will allow for us to include more features on the forum site itself and create more flexible tools than the current ones we have. More information about the migration will be presented in the coming weeks.
World Simulation Football Classic During the break we will have one final send-off for FM22 before we put it to rest in the form of a World Simulation Football Classic (WSFC), the official international tournament of the SSL. This inaugural tournament will consist of 12 federations:
- Canada
- USA
- Asiania (greater Asia and Oceania)
- Union of Central and South Americas
- Cymru a Lloegr (England and Wales)
- Commonwealth of the North Sea (nations bordering the North Sea)
- Baltic Sea Commonwealth (most nations bordering the Baltic Sea)
- United African Federation
- United Alpine Region (central and southern Europe)
- Dutch Deutsch Federation (Germany and Netherlands)
- Pyrenees Union (Portugal, Spain, France and Belgium)
- Eastern Europe
The federations have been created with the goal of finding no more than 11 actives for each roster with one exception. United States currently has 19 active players within this division and we are therefore offering players born in the United States the chance to transfer their eligibility to any other nation in the world (and thereby play for another federation).
Players will be given the chance to transfer based on a first come, first serve policy where both transferring out of the United States will be capped at 8 players and transfers in to another federation will be capped at them having at most 11 active players. Timeline This is the preliminary timeline:
- December 10th (AC107) marks the end of Season 12 in the calendar with the SSL Prospect Draft for the S13 class of players.
- December 11th (AC108) marks the start of the WSFC preparations.
- December 16 (AC108) will be the start of the group stage. The tournament is split into four groups with two games played by every federation in the group stage. The top two federations in each group advance to the quarter finals.
- December 22 (AC109) marks the end of the group stage.
- December 29 (AC110) will see the quarter finals.
- December 31 (AC110) will see the semi finals.
- January 2 (AC111) will see the final.
- January 8 (AC112) marks the start of the S13 season.
The changes to the timeline will require some clarifications of normal deadlines.
Regression is still due on the Friday after the regression post (December 15, AC108).
The negotiation period for potential free agents will open up on December 6, AC107, and players will be considered free agents at December 11, AC108.
Training Camp for S13 starts in AC112.
Note that this is still a preliminary schedule and dates may change if circumstances warrant it.
