Beermann sets his sights on his first Minor League season - Durodo - 2024-01-16

After what was a personally successful season, Erik Beermann now sets his sights on his first proper season in the SSL. Having been drafted as pick #7 by the Organization consisting of Tokyo S.C. and Cairo City, Beermann will first settle into the Egyptian Minor League side. After having left his home country to join Stockholm for the academy season, it nows means leaving Europe alltogether to go join his new teammates in Cairo.

The excitement didn’t end there for the Bavarian born midfielder. After the draft it was time for the inaugral World Simulation Football Classic. An international event with 12 nations and mixed federations of various nations facing each other to crown the first WSFC champion. For Beermann that meant getting to tie his shoes for the Dutch Deutsch Federation. It was only a brief stint at the tournament for him and his fellow teammates, having exited it in the group stage already.

While playing for a national team, even if it was a combined federation, was filling Erik with pride and joy, he couldn’t deny that the relocation to Egypt was on his mind throughout the few games he got to be on the pitch for. It was a complete reshape of his live and one that he didn’t see happening this soon. Just a few months ago the young German was looking at what he could study at an University in Munich before he got the call to join the SSL Academy.

With only a few days to go until the start of the new season, Beermann was slowly getting comfortable around his new team. This was only going to be the beginning for the leading tackler from the last Academy season. The location was new, the league was new. But for Beermann the goal stayed the same: Trying to become the best version of himself and keep rising up the ranks of the football world just as he has done in the past few months.
