- Thunder39 - 2022-01-09 Expansion Announcement The teams are now ready to reveal themselves to the rest of the league. The respective team announcement will be made in separate posts found here and here. If you haven't already read about them you can get a sneak peek in this world map. Important Dates The inaugural season of the SSL is about to come to a close with the final matchday airing on Tuesday the 11th of January. There are a couple of important dates to keep in mind for the upcoming weeks as we have a lot of things happening.
As you might realize we have decided to start each season with a draft instead of a waiver wire system. The hurdles that we had to solve in order to give the league a smooth system to use was too many and too much when there are tens of players eager to get on a team. The Waiver Wire is still going to be in effect during an ongoing season for Prospects that have created after the draft. We hope that all prospects and managers will find this solution easier to manage and work is ongoing to try to move the draft to a live venue (i.e. YouTube/Twitch) for S3 and onwards. SSL Cup Winners We would also like to congratulate Tokyo S.C. for their impressive win in the final against Inter London. Those last minutes heroics by the Tokyo defense was impressive to watch! Tokyo came into the SSL Cup Quarter Final at the bottom of the league standings but managed to go undefeated in 5 games, beating FC Rio and Cairo City in the earlier rounds. A well deserved victory showing that not everything is lost even if the regular season is not going as planned. /The BoD |
