Academy Task #3: Player Bio - Zerg - 2024-09-23 Florian Gaisberg was born in Gelsenkirchen. Tragically, this forced him to grow up a Schalke fan. He had great times with his dad cheering on the Columbus Blue Jackets of Germany, but wins were rare and good seasons rarer. The team languished in Bundesliga 2, and Florian went on a family to Austria as a nine year old and hiked Gaisberg instead of watching their promotion match on television with his father. Florian had received a vision of the Knappen losing 2-1, trusted it, and checked the score later. Schalke had not lost 2-1, but by 3-0. The ghost of Arminius shook his head in disapproval from heaven. When his footballing talents got him scouted by various organizations, Schalke passed him up, because Schalke 04 makes only poor decisions. Refusing to even consider playing for BVB, Florian went with the second-most prestigious option that had shown any interest in him: Atletco Medellin. An alternate league team, but one that had produced many stars from its system into the EPL and even the SSL, it had produced remarkably few German prospects. However, Florian's desire to live in a time zone that would prevent him from watching Schalke matches lead him to pick the South American academy team regardless of their presumable lack of quality beer. He now begins his footballing career in earnest, on a team that already has several midfielders. He knows he will have to stand out to get match time, but his need to punish his childhood team for their repeated failure is sure to see him through. |
