CABA - Tough Media Day - Blueline - 2024-11-10

Buenos Aires came into this season with high expectations. You could have asked anyone, and no one would have told you they would finish in the bottom half of the league. With the final game played against Hollywood FC, Buenos Aires was nursing a one goal lead when Hollywood continued to assert dominance and not only tie it up but get the go-ahead goal late in the 80th minute. Buenos Aires would suffer another late game defeat, a somewhat common theme for the club down the stretch. The fan base ripped into the team on social media. Targeting top players and coaches alike, no one was safe from the wrath of the keyboard warriors. While cleaning out his stall, newly appointed central attacking midfielder Sean O'Leary gave a very candid response to reporters. One reported asked him, "With such a disappointing season, who or what do you think was the problem?". O'Leary gave the reporter a harsh stare and a brief moment of silence before responding. "Look, I am going to be very blunt with you. The fact you would imply that someone on this team was a problem is ridiculous and to be honest is disrespectful to everyone who has sacrificed so much this season. Are we proud of our record this season? No, we sucked and let everyone down. Plain and simple. This season was tough, and we didn't do ourselves many favors late in games, but no one was a problem. We all know we have to be better. We all take pride putting this jersey on every day we take the pitch." O'Leary refused to take any other questions and left.
