Christmas Time - CROney3 - 2024-12-24

I thought I'd go for something different with my Point Task this time, instead of replying to an article, I figured I'd MAKE one! With work and family and holiday stuff, I've been a bit sidetracked on SSL going-ons lately, so I don't have a great article that deep dives into any stats or standings or anything.

Instead, I wanted to give a brief 'Thank you' to all you sim leaguers out there. As I'm sure many of you know, ISFL is my first real sim league and I'm as addicted as one can be. But I'm thankful for the sim league community as a whole. As my house is now quiet while the kids sleep, waiting for Santa Claus to drop off presents, I can take some time to reflect on how truly amazing the communities are for sim leagues. I can talk to people around the world in an instant. We can discuss random BS, league drama, or just commiserate together about our pro teams or kids or what have you. Joining SSL has been more fun than I initially thought it would be, and I definitely have the entire USP team to thank for that, as they have made the locker room an active and fun place to be (don't tell @kahri that, though).

I definitely spend more time on these leagues that I probably should, but it brings me enjoyment and entertainment and as long as I can make other people laugh at my stupid jokes or quips or memes or gifs, then I like to think I'm making a positive impact on someone's life, even for a brief moment in time. And that's what it's all about. So to the SSL, and sim leagues as a whole, thank you!
