ADITL - Zoe's Christmas Day - SleepyPlayz - 2025-01-03 12-24-XXXX Zoe had been invited to a party by some girl she met online that was in Canada. It couldn't hurt to at least have some fun while she was in this country, right? She'd made sure it wasn't a trap and with a bit more confidence than the previous week, she'd went out. She met the girl twice or so during the two weeks she'd been in Montreal, she lived in Ottawa, which was about a 2 hour drive, give or take with traffic. At least she had someone who was closer to her. She was about the same age as her, being in the general range of 17-19 while Zoe was 17. She wasn't a big driver, but she had some sort of license, so she figured it would be okay to drive on the road. She got dolled up with a slightly forced smile on her face, not exactly in the best of moods anymore, but still wanting to at least pretend to be happy for the day. She knew how important this day was for some people, and she didn't want to inevitably ruin the fun vibes that everyone was having, so she made a rule for herself. If she felt like she was going to cry, break down in any way, anything and everything along those lines, she would at least contact her friend and explain that she was going to be leaving early. She got to the party, parking her car. She took the keys out of the ignition with a 15 dollar Amazon make up kit wrapped in cutesy packaging and in a smaller box than the one that came with the package. Seriously, why did the people in the Amazon workshop have to package some of the things she ordered in such large boxes? Maybe it was just an international travel thing and it wouldn't be like that in the Americas? She didn't know nor did she care much right now, to be honest. She did, however, care about her friend, so she walked up and knocked on the door, waiting for a response. Sometimes it doesn't work out in her favor, but she did have a good time partying with friends despite flooding memories of... that day. She didn't want to remember it, but it was something she figured she would have to... deal with for the rest of her life. For now, she had some time to herself to think about all of it. She'd gotten drunk in a stranger's house and was being driven home by said stranger... home was... wait, she was halfway across the world. Where exactly did she have to call home? Was it the hotel she was staying at, or was she supposed to buy her own home with the money that the team gave her for playing in the Minor leagues? She didn't really know, to be honest. |
