Millwall Drafted #8, Stays at Home - stevo - 2025-01-20 While he was fearing a long fall in the S19 SSL Draft, Cameron Millwall didn't have to wait too long before hearing his name called up by SSL Commissioner Canadice: With the eighth and last pick of the first round, Schwarzwälder FV selected the defensive midfielder from Germany. He spent the last season in the Academy with Stockholm IK, making quite the impression for himself as he totaled one goal and five assists in 14 games. It only seems to be fitting for the German team to pick up one of Germany's hottest football prospects. Millwall can fill in at a number of positions off the bench, as he can also be deployed at centerback or central midfield. That is more of a future scenario though, as there's a high likelihood that he will spend some time with Schwarzwälder FV's minor league affiliate, Montreal United. That way he can accumulate some much needed on field experiences to ensure a steady development path for him. Millwall's camp seems to be happy with where he ended up being drafted to. An SSL team this close to his hometown seems to be the perfect environment to start his pro career. |
