Miedema drafted and joins Benelux for WSFC - LtForestPuppy - 2025-01-25
Carolien unlike some of her Stockholm Ik teammates watches the draft from her home in the Netherlands having received news that she’d be joining the Benelux Federation for the upcoming WSFC. Pleasantly surprised she was drafted to CF Catalunya in the second round 13th overall joining her academy teammate and fellow countrymen Aart de Trella. The celebration of her getting drafted was short lived as she left later that day to join Benelux for the start of their camp and get their training underway. Friendlies soon came and went with a 4-0 win over the USA and a 2-2 draw to Norden. The veterans of the team so far have carried the team through friendlies clearly showing how much Carolien has to improve to even hope to be as good as her fellow team mates. Despite the skill difference between her veteran teammates Carolien is still able to make an impact in their first game getting an assist in Benelux's 9-4 victory over Canada. Then in Benelux’s next game Carolien once again finds herself on the score sheet with a goal and assist in the 5-3 win over South America. So far the WSFC has let Benelux and their younger team show to the world that they are not a team to be taken lightly with one game left in the group stages with West Africa the second team to be advancing out of group A. Can Benelux keep up their string of dominance with their young team?
