Debut interview: Dejan Veraković - Git21 - 2025-03-13 * Hello folks! Here we are today with Sydney's central defender, Dejan Veraković! Hello Dejan, how are you doing today? -Uhh, hi. I am Dejan, i come from Serbia, i play defense. * Great! Could you please tell us more on what you do on the field? -Um... Dejan trails off, looking at his PR manager sitting to right of him. The manager just shoots him a glare back, mouthing something that most wouldn't notice unless they were specifically looking for it. -Uhh, i defend the goal, so enemy don't shoot the ball into net. Anybody disagree, i uh... He looks up and squints, seemingly remembering something he practiced just minutes beforehand. -An enemy don't like that i defend the goal, i break his ankles. The PR manager just facepalms in dissapointment, while the interviewer desperately thinks of a way to change the subject. * Alright! Uhh, how come you started playing for Sydney? - Oh, it's because- Dejan trails off as his PR manager tugs on his shirt. He moves over so that his ear is up to the managers mouth. Clearly giving him instructions, the manager is whispering to Dejan's ear, seemingly not caring for the interviewer in the room. Finally, after a minute, Dejan faces the interviewer again, this time with a ready answer. Clearing his throat, he says: - I joined Sydney because i thought it would be a good opportunity to learn and become better at football, with such great staff and coaches there, i am sure to see... brighter futures in my career? He turns over to his manager, expecting a response like how a schoolkid would look at their teacher, awaiting to hear their given grade. The manager just gives him a slight nod, and a thumbs up, hidden by his crossed arms. * Alright, thank you for your answers! And how is your relationship with the rest of the team? - Uhhhhhh....... The PR manager, clearly fed up at this point, spat out a cold denial at the interviewer: (:) Dejan is no longer taking any questions at this time. He must rest, and prepare for his training exercises. Thank you for your time. Not missing a beat, the interviewed footballer and his miffed superior started to pack up and leave. The flustered interview team couldn't muster up much of a response, so they, as well, started to close up shop. * Alright people! That was Dejan, the Sydney team's valiant defender! Let's hope his career will be long and succesful for years to come! |
