Atletico Medellín midfield prospect Díabhí Barr has given his first interview in the newspaper El Colombiano, responding to various questions asked by the Medellín based daily paper.
"After a tough start in the SSL Academy, you seem to be picking up form a bit since switching from the right wing to a more central midfield position. Do you prefer playing more centrally?"
"I'm glad to finally have found my footing a bit these last few games." Barr responded. "I'll play wherever the coach wants me to play but I feel I can impact the game a bit more when I'm more towards the middle of the pitch."
Journalist Diego Gomez from the paper also asked Barr about his future. "The draft is quickly approaching. Have you spoken to any representatives from organisations in the Minor and Major leagues, and do you have an organisation you would prefer to go to?"
"Yes, I've had conversations with some organisations and I'm glad they are interested in me. It's too early to tell where I'll end up, but I just hope I will get drafted to a place where I'd be able to fit into the team nicely and contribute right away, whether that be in the Majors or the Minors. It's been my lifelong dream to become a professional football player, and the fact it's getting closer and closer has got me excited. We'll see what happens."
