Before today, probably literally nobody in the Simulation Soccer League, or anywhere in the simulated sports world, had heard of the name 'Cal Labovitch'. The Swiss talented forward decided to pursue a career in soccer football over his hockey career, despite several offers from SMJHL teams. In an interview with Swiss media, the 17 year old winger had the following to say about this decision:

"While I very much enjoy being on the ice and playing hockey, my real passion is being out on the pitch chasing a ball. My family was very supportive, and fully understand my decision to not follow my fathers footprints. I'm ready to carve out my own career path, in a sport I very much enjoy."

Cal is the son of former Minnesota Monarchs hockey legend Cal Labovitch. While born in the USA, Cal spend most of his youth back in Switzerland, where the family lived after Cal Sr's hockey career was over. The young forward is very confident in a role as an attacking playmaker on the right flank, bombing forward to look for opportunities to get the ball into the penalty box and set up the team's strikers for an attempt to score. His ability to run with the ball, and dangle opponents before crossing the ball in front of the net will be a valuable asset to his new team.

Yesterday, it was announced that Cal Labovitch has joined the AthĂȘnai F.C.. Cal has been heard saying he is looking forward to meeting his new teammates in practice today, after arriving in Athens. Rumour has it the coach has already told Cal he'll be in the starting eleven for the AthĂȘnai team in their upcoming game against Cairo City. The Swiss youngster is reportedly ready to go and will certainly try to leave a good impression and get an assist on the scoresheet.
